What do you think is a man's greatest fear in life?

What do you think is a woman's greatest fear in life?

What is YOUR greatest fear?

Hi Julieanna,

Great question! I have NO idea what goes on in the minds of men... but I figure it may be similar to us women (or me anyway). As a Chistian my greatest fear is to live a life according to my own purpose and not the life that God has designed for me. And as a single person, my greatest fear is not to be able to love again or be loved in an intimate capacity...

How about you?

I used to fear being lonely until I was alone.

I used to fear being broke until I was broke.

I used to fear having no friends until I had no friends.

The only thing I fear now is being abandoned by God.

I'm not trying to be poetic. All of that is true.

I think my fear is a fear that's common to most people, and has been echoed by the other two contributors to this thread:

I fear coming to the end of my life, dying, and realizing that I never made the difference I could have, wanted to, or should have.

Whether you intended to wax poetic or not, there's beauty and strength in what you said. :)

My fear now [not really lacking faith] is not making it to heaven which makes all earthly problems just easy ..though were not saved by earning salvation is sometimes one feels they missed it or simly no longer saved though you know God was in your life in the past or SATAN really rattles our cages..My best craving need is confidence at death for death to go to be with Jesus. And again i do not think i now do not have faith. But confidence wanes some reason or other. Solutions are there obviously.

About the ninth hour Jesus cried out in a loud voice, Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani?" - which means, "My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?" (Matthew 27:46)

Oh yes, I know and love that scripture. I have felt that way a few times too. I believe Jesus cried out so that we would know that he too understands what it feels like to feel abandoned by God, even though he wasn't truly abandoned, and neither are we. Thank you.

I think we've all had those times, Vinifera and Zero. Seems like when that happens, the best thing we can do is hit our knees and turn them into "I'm-not-gonna-let-go-til-You-bless-me" moments, huh?

My dad always said the only way to guarantee failure is not to try. :)

For He Himself has said, "I will never leave you nor forsake you," So we may boldly say: "The Lord is my helper; I will not fear. What can man do to me?" (Hebrews 13:5,6)
