There's a lot of wisdom out there that can be said in very few words. My mom/dad/gramma had a ton of them. They echo in my head from time to time and have often kept me out of trouble.

My example: If you use sex to hook a man, don't complain when you catch a bottomfeeder.

Care to share one..two..a dozen? :)

I'll try to translate one very famous from where I lived ( in spanish it rhymed) :
From words to facts there is just an action of distance.

And one that I love:
Loose lips sink ships.

My dad: Don't let your mouth overload your capabilities

I've had worse than than on my eyeball. Suck it up. Rub some dirt on it.

Respect is earned, not demanded.

If you want to be treated like a lady, act like one.

If you dance to the music, you gotta pay the piper.

Some days you're the windshield. Some days you're the bug.

There is wisdom in silence.

I had to think about that one for awhile, but I think i understand it now. I think it means watch what you say because it can sink a relationship?

I like those. I wish my parents or somebody gave me words of wisdom when I was growing up. No one did. :(

You don't choose, you just fall.

He taught me how to love, but not how to stop.

Can you explain me the first one? :)

For all we hope our significant others to be, we don't always have that choice. Sometimes, you turn around and there they are. Completely different than what you were looking for, filling all the spots that you didn't know were missing in your life...and you just fall....

My brain's froze far as remembering what grandparents or mom/dad said wisdom-wise, but I like 'Look before you leap,' which can be applied a lot of ways, including singleness, as a proverb not from Proverbs :D to help your life practically so you can avoid misery down the road.

It can sink relationships or hurt somebody. It's a reference to think what you are going to say, if it's not good, keep it to yourself.:)

After all these years on this planet, I've learned that:

A balanced diet means a cookie in each hand.

and

If you die in an elevator, be sure to push the UP button!

Haha. FUAAAAAAAA! Show your power!

I also learned that...

Computers can beat me at checkers, but they're no match for me at kickboxing.

Quit telling God how big your storm is...start telling the storm how big YOUR God is!

If it sounds stupid, it probably IS stupid.

Hurting people hurt people, but healthy people help people.

Work on it, and, if it doesn't work, work on it some more, and, keep on praying how to make it work. God won't work you more than you can work. :)

If you don't know what to say.... say the truth.
