Birth Order Personality

Supposedly people who are born in their families, based on birth and gender, follow certain roles. Are you:
The only child
Oldest Child
Middle Child
Youngest Child
Mixed family (step-family)
Only girl of 2 or more kids
Only boy of 2 or more kids
All girls in family
All boys in family
have at least 1 brother and 1 sister

As soon as remember how the birth order and gender supposedly shows your personality, I'll post it. Unless someone else remembers what it is.

First borns - the leaders, the drivers and the responsible types
Second borns - the 'people' people, the compromisers, and the flexible operators.
Only's - the quiet achievers, the finishers, they expect nothing less than the best.
Youngests - the initiators, ideas people and the challengers

I'm not going to post everything in regards to gender birth order, but basically:

Mental
First Born Daughter: Talkative/Outward; Matriarch Problem Solver
First Born Son:Thinking/Inward; The dreamer
Feeling
Second Born Daughter:Creative/Inward; The Princess, Creative
Second Born Son: Emotional/Outward; The Champion
Physical
Third Born Daughter: Will/Outward; daughter of Solomon (Not sure what that means, unless it's something to do with new age.)
Third Born Son: Communication/Inward; Chess master/Chameleon
Action
Fourth Born Daughter: Change/Inward; Aware
Fourth Born Son: Manifestation/Outward; Jokester
Benevolence
Fifth Born Daughter: Caring/Outward; Compassionate
Fifth Born Son: Gentle/Inward; Artist/Servant
Group Dynamic
Sixth Born Daughter: Inspirational/Inward; Princess, Illuminated

I can't find the other info that talks about birth order and gender, but I think that if you are the oldest of all girls or boys, your personality is supposedly different from a boy middle child with only sisters, or the youngest child a girl with only brothers

Does anyone know how that supposedly effects our personality?

I'm the youngest in a mixed family. I'm the only child of my parents. My older bro/sis had a different father.

Im the middle in a mixed family, the only of my mother, my older and younger brothers and sisters have different mothers and fathers.

After reading this i start to have doubts that i am the only child in my family, hahahaha.

A lot of different categories fit me, especially the "Princess, Illuminated" because I glow in the dark.

I also read that studies have shown that older siblings tend to be smarter and live longer. However, younger siblings tend to be more sociable and are able to empathize better. Also, the youngest sibling tends to have a great sense of humor.

i'm the middle child and my description definitely fits me. i have thought so for a while now. as far as personality theories go.

Middle child, only boy (INTJ). Doesn't seem to be particularly accurate in my case. But, maybe I'm just special :)

I think that may end up being the reverse in my family, at least the sociable and living longer part.

Awesome thread, Viola!

I'm adopted, the oldest, and the only girl. I'm only very talkative when I know people fairly well, and that may take some time. I'm more of the "class clown" than the leader... I'm very responsible, so people always want to push me into a leadership position but I hate being the leader--I'm much better at being a support person or "behind the scenes".

I agree with Bridget--I probably create a lot of my own problems but hopefully not so much anymore. As for solving problems... eh. Prevention, if at all possible, seems to be the best way to go... and if not... well... My only answer is a lot of prayer to ask for endurance or the strength to change.

I was a in a group last night in which one of the questions was, who would you want to interview, dead or alive? The two answers I came up with were Abraham Lincoln (he was an underdog his whole life--I wonder what inspired him to keep trying), and Charles Manson, because of my interest in criminal psychology.

Not sure if birth order was to blame, but that pretty much showcases the polar opposites of my personality.

I love how you can't find INTJ's anywhere except for forums. All of the sudden we compose 1/2 the population.

INFJ - 1.4% of general population

Two of the most rare MB types. Hmm.
