One incident I remember was from when I was 9 years old, in the grocery store.

It was through a very intense feeling. He spoke to me through intuition maybe. I just had this feeling that I must run and find my mom NOW.

She had the same feeling at the same time, opposite side of the store. She said the feeling was so strong she wanted to yell my name.

Was there a reason why you needed to find each other so urgently?

I was with my little brother, and there was this tall old guy with a suspicious santa-like beard and sunglasses just standing and staring at us while smiling. And then he said..."boo".

I just got this shot of REALLY bad urgent feeling, and I took my brother and ran. It felt different than normal fear. And I thought it weird my mom felt it at the same time even though she wasn't next to us.

Audibly, no.

It has always been through circumstances or by reminding me of verses, or by reminding me of things He has done before. I want to avoid saying He speaks to me through feelings, because I don't see any instances of Him doing that in the Bible. Sometimes an revolutionary idea will pop into my head after praying, something I never considered, and many of those times it was definitely God doing that.

If someone wants to hear God, I would really recommend reading the Bible. He can't remind you of verses that you have never read, and He made the Bible so that you would read it. But reading the Bible should be part of any legit Christian's day anyway.

Have I ever heard His voice? No.
Have I ever known there was something He was specifically trying to tell me? Oh yeah. Sometimes, I'll be reading my Bible and feel a pull to turn somewhere completely different. Why? Because there's a verse there that is the answer to my problems. When I feel disgusting, worthless, and full of shame, I feel a whisper in my heart saying "You ARE worthy because you are My child." It's always been things of that nature. So, yeah. In a way, you could say God has spoken directly to me.

Yes, the first time He spoke to me was in 2004, I was a mess, you know the Book of Job, that was me.
I use to take diet pills to keep me alert, that day I had taken a different kind and mixed it with the other, I overdosed on them and it was the most painful experience I ever went through (this had been after I started going back to church). As I was laying on my bed afraid to move and just crying God spoke to me, He told me to get up and that He did not put me here to leave this way. He told me to get in my Bible and turn to the Book of Job. Shortly after I perked up, sat on the floor with my Bible and read that entire chapter. From that day forward I chose to dedicate my life to Christ and here I am today praising God everyday for taking me out of the mess I was in.

Yes, many times. God's word, the Bible, has certainly spoken to me many times. I definitely count that. Other than that, it usually comes in the form or realizations, convictions, or a great peace.

Yes and yes.

Never by words but when I have something in my life that is troubling me, important to me, I turn to scripture and it is startling ALMOST ALWAYS what kind of fitting words God gives me. Sometimes, I just say God I need some help with this. First, I pray, and, then I open up my bible and just take my finger and put it on a verse. Wham! I am then zones in to that verse. Sometimes one verse does the trick, to soothe me, coach me (sounds like our Holy Spirit 'helper' doesn't it), guide me, and, you got it, bruthuhs 'n sistuhs, lead me :) . The one verse pointed too sometimes is not the end either, sometimes it is a means to an end as I read above and below that verse, sometimes whole chapters to understand all God means by it or, maybe, that pointing is merely for me to delve deeper because the verse pointed to is something I cannot get an answer from like anywhere but Jabez prayer in 1 Chronicles and Numbers. I really try hard to avoid flipping to those 2 Books :D

Yes, I believe God speaks to us in many ways and He's intervened so many times in my life, whether I was going through something good or bad.

Long story short, I was lying awake one night and can't explain it but something came on my heart very strongly--something about a guy, and that he would have a cigarette burn on his arm, and that it was self-induced.

I met that guy about a year and a half later--I had no idea who he was, I was in a social situation and he struck up a conversation and asked to talk to me. While we were talking, I noticed a small, circular mark on his arm. I asked him what it was... He said it was a scar from a cigarette burn.

"Did you do that yourself?" I asked. He looked at me for several minutes, then looked away. "You wouldn't understand," he said.

I turned my own arms over, which at the time, had about 3 long cuts on each side. "Why don't you try me," I replied... and what followed was one of the most real conversations I've ever had. Before we parted (we never talked again after that... I often think of him and wonder how he's doing), he said, "Kim, I know why I met you... Now I know without a doubt that there is a God."

Yes , He speak to me by His words , when iam meditate His words , when i speak to Him in pray .

One day i have to pray for one thing that i know i really need it , so i ask God , with tears streaming down i pray , i ask , i pray , i ask and in one moment He speak "if I don't want to give it to you , what do you want? " I was shocked and stopped spontaneously crying , and i realized that God have a great time for giving me what i need.

I believe that God always want to speak every time in our life cause He live on us , He's so real , 24 hours walk with us , but sometimes we don't realized that.

One time I came close to swallowing glass. This inexplicable voice in the back of my head told me to spit it all out. I was 13 and didn't know that eating glass would likely tear up my esophagus leaving me dead or with some permanent injury.

Yes He has spoken to me many times. It was never audibly.

He speaks to me through the reading of the Bible, while I pray, in my thoughts, wakes me up in the middle of the night to pray either for something specific or just to pray, in my spirit, in my dreams, through a vision given to somebody else regarding me. He gives me ideas, hints, convictions, pushes me to action, gives me warnings, overwhelms me with tears of compassion toward someone I don't know.

Sometimes I don't seem to have heard Him, but still I know He spoke. For example, I vividly remember being in the traffic at a stop sign, another time at a red light. It happened on two different occasions. Both these times, for some unknown reason, I felt like staying put a little longer instead of moving forward when all traffic seemed clear and when the light was green. Not moving I suddenly saw a vehicle crossing the intersection at full speed. If I had moved forward earlier these vehicles would have rammed into my car.

I'm glad God speaks to us! :)

God speaks to me through His Word and in prayer on a daily basis...sometimes even through a song I hear in my car or through the words/actions of someone else....doesn't even have to be a christian for Him to use them...after all, He's used donkeys :)

I heard His voice audibly as a teen sitting on the side of a tub intending to slit my wrists. He said, "If you do this, you will go to Hell." It was very calm..very authoritative and extremely clear. I put the razor down and went to bed...slept like a baby.

Twice I have been awakened from sleep by the Lord:

1. When my stepdad died, I was asleep on the flood beside him and a voice said, "Wake up". The first thing I noticed was that I could no longer hear the labored breathing and I knew he was gone. I called one of my stepsisters to tell her he was gone and she said, "I know. I just saw him running the streets of Heaven." He'd been in a wheelchair for about 3 years before he died. :)

2. I was in the hospital with an IV in my arm. I again heard "Wake up" in time to see that the IV had run dry, but the alarm for the nurses hadn't gone off because the battery was dead and they'd forgotten to plug the charger in the night before.

I've told the story here before about God sending me to a certain man with winter clothing and in the process answering a particular prayer, so I won't repeat it.

I've also told how He told me to go see my boss who had cancer in the hospital to tell her a particular thing..and that led her to the Lord...so I won't repeat that story either. :)

So many..

When people say God isn't speaking these days I know they just aren't seeking/listening.
