My rule of thumb is usually about a generation so give or take 10 years. Then again I think what if I met someone wonderful 11 years older than me. That said, pray about it, and your first instinct is probably your best advice. If it seems uncomfortable to date someone 15 years older/younger, then don't date them.

I agree with Missy though, I'll take an adult male with a heartbeat please :)

So does that mean that mean that you'd be willing to date a 11 year old? :p

Ummm......ok, well, I havent had too much choice lately as males are slim pickings where I live! haha......
But seriously - I simply cant define an age because age is simply a number and does not indicate the maturity and lack or abundance there of....so...do I have a defined age range - simply put NO. As long as he is a male, breathing and we have stuff in common = sweet! lol
Sounds like my kinda gal. LOL :D

I'm 27, and I think my range would be 21-37. That's kind of arbitrary, but I just think that 10 years older than me would about be my limit. Then again, Tina Fey is 39, I think, and I would definitely make an exception for her. :)

I agree with what a lot of you are saying. It comes down to compatability and being at similar maturity levels.

yeah, dating a younger guy didn't work out so well for me. It was like dating a much younger more immature version of myself.

I would only date guys older then me, and 7 years older at most but still that is touchy. I can't date anybody 2, 4, or 8 years older then me because it's strange to date somebody my brothers age

yeah, but thats ok for you cos you are a guy....see....thats what I dont get....why is it perfectly acceptable for a guy to date girls years younger BUT if it was the guy who was lots younger people generally look sideways???!!! Is that just cos of the theory that girls mature faster than guys........I say pffffft to that cos once you reach a certain age that is irrelevant.......hmmm.......*puzzled frown*

i agree once you hit a certain age its all irrelevant. I cant stand to see guys who are like 25 26 datin girls that are 17 18 years old.. Thats crazy, you have to look at the movtives for why the guy is dating her...... im sure its not the stimulating conversation ya know.

I don't know, I'm just entering into adulthood. I'm at the awkward stage where she's got to be close to my age, because if she's too much younger it's kinda weird, and same if she's older. I think, for now, my range is 2 years on either side. As you get older, it becomes less important I think. For example, the difference between 21 and 25 isn't a big deal. But say 19 and 15, that's kind of sketchy. Yet they are both the same difference, numerically. Lol if that makes sense.
