Agreed, Jilly. I just hope I never have to stare death and torture in the face . What an ugly sight that would be I'm sure
______
Oh, OK, being silly, jilly, , I agree, it is easy to witness through a website, it is not like you're having to pick a girl from your school or college and ask her to some Spring Formal dance It's a totally introversive act , with no real repercussions to witnessing on c.c., except maybe getting the person to reject Christ, which should be fine, because it is not your fault they rejected Christ. The Enemy is REAL !
He's always up to no fun, and, no fun for him is making your life as close to death and torture as he can make it and, he's hoping, on the outside chance, you could come to his darkside. Smiling all the while at you, like Oh, I smiled twice now, well, maybe, just maybe, Jilly, then one of those smiles was for you, I 'spose, yeah, sure, was. t'was.

But, yes, have your fun on c.c., peeps, but D) remember that God sent His son not to condemn the world or save the saved sheep (know the parable about 'the lost sheep ? ' , one sheep lost comes back and shepherd is delighted, more so than his cheer for the 99 that are already counted for) . God came to this Earth, through His son, to SAVE the lost, that was His great intent and being on c.c., don't need to be pressured, just be listening, praying, for opportunities to put forth words from your mouth about our Saviior as the Spirit leads you.

The Lord leads

Also, jilly, I was just trying to be funny and though-provoking at same time with the 'Yea.......with me ' Psalms 23 stuff cuz couple peep on here were talking about 'yay' word and such. Being green , ya know.

Green, I laughed up loud when I read this . I had honestly read your post (#79) a few days ago, and still the only thing I could think of that it could mean is what I talked about in post #80 (which I wanted to say anyway), and I figured that if I was wrong, you would let me know what you really meant. And when you did, I had a good laugh. But don't worry, I wasn't laughing AT your green brains; I was laughing along WITH them .

Well, yes, jilly, I see that you were answering my question of 'yea' very cleverly. (*does she really think she's bein' clever. Clever. Well, nobody.... )

'Even.' Yes, it is thought-provoking all the more now. :%

The word 'yea' has 3 definitions if you Google it and not one says yea=even.

Huh. Yeah, berry, berry interressant, the Deutsch and fruit-loving parts of my brains of green say. ----

And, Yes, God is moving fast now, with the advent or chat and easy, fast webbing more and more people get reached so Jesus is that much closer to coming again. We do not know the day or tgechour BUT common sense understanding of the evolylution of our times speaks volumes, to me, anyway, that the time is near

I think part of the reason God seemed so real to me (even when I was young) was not only being specifically asked when I was little if I wanted to accept Jesus as my Savior, but also the fact that my parents made God real to me, not only by talking about Him like He's there, but also saying that we were going to do something (or not do something! ) because He wanted/didn't want us to, often giving specifics. Their zeal helped also...not only were they intent on their faith and made it real to me, and lived it and shared the Gospel with others, but they involved me in things, and involved God in things. We'd pray together about things that came up. I recall praying that the Berlin wall would come down after my parents explained the situation to me and suggested that I pray for it to fall if I felt led. It made me feel like such a part of history when it came down....I'm getting a little bit teary-eyed even as I type; I remember watching it being joyfully torn apart on TV . Praise Jesus!
Jill, I understand where you're coming from, thinking out loud can be a very beneficial thing. Besides I think I threw so many rocks at my parents (figuratively of course) growing up... :P

Growing up my mom was very active in teaching me/siblings about God. I had the privilege of being home schooled and through this our mom taught us about God a TON. Not only did we get taught Christian based science/history etc. but I also had "Bible books" too. I didn't care about God so I didn't learn near as much as I could, but I did learn some from the "Bible books". I wish I would have learned more, I feel like I know nothing now.

A little more...from a very young age I knew who God was but I never felt His "realness". This wasn't from lack of "parents teaching"/"education about God", but because I didn't care about God. My mom would always tell me whenever I was thinking wrong that satan was planting those thoughts in my mind. I always blew it off cause I didn't really believe this, I just thought people had bad days and we didn't always think in a positive way. I've come to realize the truth that we are fighting a spiritual battle and satan is just as present as God is.

AK. A spiritual war - Satan trying to do things - is good, it means you are doing good God things in your life.
Always keep in mind that God defeated Satan long ago, so, go to church tomorrow , then, get a-ready for His a-speakin' to ya and then sleep sun night after having first prayed to God about becoming the REALEST in your life He's ever been and then just start steppin'. 1,2,3,4 .1,2,3 4 .

And you can be darn-tootin' certain, that with that kind of mentality God will show up in your life.

People, get on your dancing shoes to celebrate, Jesus is a-comin' again.

And get those a-flyin' shoes lined up too

When God moves in us, nothing can stop us. Truly, the three stories Jilly told us were moving.

I have been 'moved' many times by God saving others through me, as SeekingMcVeggies said, a 'vessel.' And, I must say there is truly no more rewarding experience in my life, past or present, than being able to let God work through me to make a seeker saved.
------
Way to go, Jilly, being brave, understanding what God did through you. The HS power will only magnify more and more in us as you glorify God.
Never in scripture does God say our job on Earth is to procreate. Jesus never said it either.
-----------
Our job on Earth is to bring others to Christ, as a single person, or, as a couple, the Lord leads on that, but that is IT ! To love one another, this is why faith, and, hope, both play second fiddle to love....love conquers all, and, the greatest love of all was Christ dying on the cross because He loved us.

Green, here's the response that I said I wanted to give when it got closer to Valentine's Day .

I agree; scripture supports what you said about our job on Earth being to bring others to Christ. Certainly there are other things He wants us to do along the way, but He gave us the Great Commission as our life's work before He ascended into Heaven (Mark 16:15), and the reason I wanted to say this near Valentine's Day is because I find it much easier and more pleasant to be single when I keep focus of what my job down here is. I'm not going to lie to everyone and say that I never want a husband, but the desire for a man doesn't consume my life. I think there are several reasons that sharing the Gospel keeps me happier; first of all, it gives me something important to do to keep me busy and my mind occupied; second of all, it forces me to stay in touch with Jesus; talking about Him, and also asking Him what I can do differently/better next time I talk to someone about Him. Not that we should need to be forced to keep in touch with Him, but any time with Him is beneficial . The last personal earthly benefit I wanted to mention about witnessing is the fact that when you see constantly that there are lost, dying, miserable people out there who desperately need to hear that Someone loved them so much that He died for them, and you can see what an impact Jesus makes in their lives once they accept Him, it makes the crisis of a lack of a husband a very minor one indeed, to say the least . I love you, Jesus <3<3<3

Jilly, you are doing the right things above, in a great way.

Nothing better than to serve God with our whole heart, out of human emotion and spiritual emotion both, for both ourselves and others.

That is quite the opening of the heart, fitting I 'spose then, it is close to V-day. Yes, jilly, I pray God gives you the desires of your heart, that you walk on water, if you want to, and, may it be in Venice or wherever your heart so desires to, that you get on stage and witness to others boldly wherever that stagge may be, grand or just 'center.' May your life play out with the love of Jesus on your heart, always. God bless you, girl , and, I will leave you with a quote that speaks of helping those lost, and the truly helpless hurting--children, who were living in impoverished conditions in Korea, think it was. Anyhoo, this is what Dr. Bob Pierce said after seeing so much pain in his travels of business that were intertwined with instances of seeing children in great need.

"Let my heart be broken by the things that break the heart of God."

He went on to start the world's largest Christian non-profit organizatoin this world has ever known. The weight of his heart was heard by God as he left his family tile business for starting a ministry from scratch with no guarantees but a belief in God to help his heart become broken like he so desired.

Thank you for those words, Green; that was a kind thing to post . I'm usually not quite that open, but I felt it very prudent to say those things, and I'm happy to open up my heart a bit to share the love I've found that isn't symbolized by a box of chocolates or a dozen red roses . Happily, I'm not the only one who has discovered this phenomena. Not only have some of my sisters in Christ who already posted here mentioned joy in serving, I met another woman I'll tell you about in the next paragraph.

It was very nice to see another lady in the chat room a few days ago say in the main chat how she was so excited to have just led a man to Christ, and how great it felt. It sounded as though she'd been talking to him for quite awhile, and was glad that the chats bore eternal fruit, in addition to the friendship they had formed. What made me smile the most was probably the fact that she said, "It's funny; I realize that I don't mind being single any more; I feel so much more content" . I had seen her ask in the main chat awhile back when she had just joined, "why isn't there anyone in the singles' room?" (to anyone wondering, that room is usually empty; generally everybody crowds into the lounge ). I enjoy being silly and very mildly flirting with the single guys, don't get me wrong, but I know what my main job is, and I was so glad to see that another lady had found the same mission that has such nice personal rewards along with it .

Jilly, as long as you didn't 'laugh up chuck.'. I think that would be a travesty, very gross. Unless of course, you are a cannibal , like what I think those dollhead things represent in 'The River,' and, by episode 8 in six weeks we will know the secret. Mylanta, WHAT a build-up to some of the stupidest, most boring tv show I ever seen, commercial previews were great but show, so far, sure ain't. I sure hope episode 2 brings a lot more , or this abc show will soon be dancing with the canceled shows . But, yeah, jilly, we only need to trust in God's grace and mercy of our life, freely given after Jesus freeeed us from sin dying on that ole rugged cross 1989 years ago in 33 a.d.

Not bad witness is it, I think you were about to cry a river because óle green was derailing your thread but , noooooo, I was not content with stopping my talk until I let the Seekers know about Jesus' simple act long ago that can , with saying,

'Dear God, I want you forever from now on forrever , take my sinned up broken life and help me. I accept You right now in my heart. Amen.'

Can , and, will, in such a blessed, filling way, change their life forevermore.

Done. If you just said that prayer, you are now God's. Now go to church and find ways to experience the true beauty of God this Sunday, and, I would suggest going down to altar, not because you are just at that 'altar' time accepting God in your heart (you just accepted God above, right ) but you are just talking to God and I promise you that time, if you wholeheartedly talk to Him, will provide strength and understanding and joy to reconfirm your awesome decide to follow Jesus . And, you now have a new life, óld things gone, the muck and noise confessed sins of your life gone. Gone!

Now you only have one thing in your life, from Jesus.

Peace like a river in your soul.

You're welcome, Honest01 . Yes, Jesus told us to go into ALL the world and preach the Gospel....whether it's on this site, which reaches all around the globe, or talking to someone in our hometown which is part of the world as well . I totally agree with you; wherever we find ourselves .

Jilly, ftr (for the record) , when I said 'laugh up chuck,' I was thinking definitely about reaching someone all around the globe. I read this book in high school called 'Bruschko,' it was a good read about a american guy who goes to evangelize to a murderous (cannibal) south american tribe ....

So, after me (maybe you, too, wanna go to S.A. ? ) there in the heart of the amazon, I would use that joke to break the ice, or something like it, I guess it could really only work IF one of the tribesman were to upchuck while I (we) were being introduced to everyone who was smiling at us with 'turkey drumsticks' in their eyes I guess they would have to know English too or they wouldn't find it so funny IF when the tribesman vomitted, I turned and said to you and them, 'Hey, that guy just upped chuck. get it, tribedude, 'up chuck. chuck ? a human named 'chuck.'

At this point I would hope his grin didn't turn to sneer . That would likely mean he didn't get my joke, or worse yet, thought it was said in bad taste
- 'uh, green they are starting to surround us'

Oh, but jilly, never fear, we got God
