How to be a real family in Christ

I was thinking about that we become children of God when we believe in Jesus and start to being part of the family of God.

We stop being "the blond girl" or the "tall guy" or the "old lady of 80 years old" or "the troubled teen" and all the stereotypes fall down. Because our real identity is that we are children of God and that what put us together as family is the love of God.

Galatians 3:26-29 "So in Christ Jesus you are all children of God through faith, for all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ. There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus. If you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise."

But as many of us have seen in many places, there are many things happening and many ppl have forgotten that we are a family, that we are brothers and sisters in Christ.

So my question is, what things can we do promote or encourage the love as a family of God in all the places that we are?

Unfortunately many today have no idea what a real family is simply because of the world and society we live in. at least in North America divorce is rampant, people live together without ever getting married and no one bats an eyelash. Same gender relationships are becoming more and more accepted even by people claiming to be devote Christians. Sex outside marriage and broken relationships are spread all over the media like jam on toast, and again many don't bat an eyelash. All this is even becoming commonplace in the homes of God fearing Christians.

In our rush for money and technological advancement, we as a society have forgotten who we are and where we came from. We are lost and adrift. Our various family members are scattered across the world, and might contact each other once a year.

Personally I have no family except my mom and she is hours away. My brother and 1 uncle is a continent away, and that uncle is divorced and married his mistress. I have a nephew I will probably never see. my other uncle and father are 4 hours away, and my father decided one morning he was gay, justifying the decision by stating he was born that way. I almost never see my grandparents that are still alive, and I never see my aunt and uncle on my mom's side. As for my cousins they are scattered all over the world. and the one cousin that lives nearby has 6 children I've never seen. This is a typical north american family. And mine is good. No criminals, or drug users etc...

How can any of us know how to be a real family in Christ with people we aren't related too, when we can't even figure out how to be a real family with those we are related to by blood?

Help out individuals, even families, in need, as the Lord leads you. If you see a family that might be struggling, wife upset with husband and you heard some of conversation, then talk to the lady IF you are a lady single, or, married lady, too, or, IF you are brave, go talk to the guy, let Him know Jesus cares by you caring enough to say something about the situation he and his wife are both struggling with. maybe theord leads you to say something , maybe not, but if you never go (try to help) then you will never know God wants us to know our fellow brothers and sisters in Christ in a helping way when they hurting.

I'm so glad I'm a part of the family of God . I've been......cleansed by His blood. Join hands with Jesus as we..... the family of God
