A light went on in my brain this morning as I remembered reading about Gideon's army and how God told Gideon to send those home who lapped up the water face down, but to keep those who knelt and lifted their cupped hands to their mouths to drink. If we are going to be of service to God, we need to keep our heads up and be paying attention, don't we?
I had often wondered why God had given me a mother's heart, but only one child. As I looked around this morning at all of the kids who wanted to hug on me before service started, I began to understand. A lot of them may not receive that sort of love and affection at home. When God gives us something He expects us to use it. We need to keep our heads up for opportunities to do so.
I wanted to share this here with other single ladies who have a heart for children, maybe even some guys too. There are a lot of kids out there who could use godly mentors and a hug or two.
