I realize that at some point, at least a semi-lie is somewhat necessary... such as, in response to, "Does this dress make me look fat?" (I would rather have someone say, "Well, I liked the blue dress better," or "I think a dress that flows and moves a little more would be more flattering," than tell me it looks great when he actually thinks it looks horrible)... but for the most part, yeah, I'd rather have the truth.

I mean, if he doesn't want to go shopping and it's no big emergency or something where I'd really need his input, then sure, that's fine, why have him lie and say he wants to go? It's no big deal, I can go by myself.

Maybe some people like to be lied to about this or that... but I prefer the truth, whenever possible.

I would prefer guys lie to me about some things... because I think if I knew what actually went on inside their heads, I'd go be a nun tomorrow. I wonder if they would let a protestant be a nun...

If it's "does this dress make me look phat"? How can you know? The words fat and phat sound the same... that's my excuse anyway.

*laughs* Musical does have a good point, as usual.

But I could never be a nun... I mean.. what if THEY could tell what WE were really thinking?

They'd never even let me fill out the application :).

I think that is where you are completely and totally wrong...I think most women would rather a man lie to them than tell the truth...like the times when you FORCE him to go shopping with you. And he is falling asleep in the corner and when you ask him if he is bored and he says no...you say...ok and believe him...even when all vital signs point to the fact he is so bored he can hardly stand it...lol
I think you'll find that the women on CC aren't most women :)

I dunno, aren't some good relationships built on each person doing other things the other person likes, even if the other person does not really want to do them? I mean, it has to work both ways or one person would go insane and plus that'd be selfish. Not saying couples can;t compromise, but I dunno i guess guys and girls can take a hit for people they love? i think I'm making sense....

Yea...ya making sense.....a wonderful South African pastor spoke about his relationship with his wife and mentioned how he would spend time with her each evening before supper (he was very busy but still made time) peeling potatoes etc.....just so that she could talk and talk and talk.....women LOVE ta talk.......he'd give her his undivided attention and listen to whatever she wanted to say.......now, she in turn would go with him out to sea in his catamaran (sp?)........keeping in mind she hated the water and sometimes the sea would be quite choppy....but she did it coz she knew he loved it, and she wanted to share this interest with him........I liked that.....

Yea exactly! If ya really like a person, then it's who ya with that counts sometimes, not what you;re doing. My parents do some boring stuff sometimes and go to resturaants I dislike, but sometimes I'll go just so I can chat with them cause I barely see them with my work and school. ^_^

Ah, right. The way your worded it confused me lol, my bad.

Lying to women is wrong....unless they ask you if they look fat in the jeans they are in. Then it's A-OK XD.

My past few relationships seemed to be more like me doing something I wasn't interested in because I knew it was important to them, and them not really caring what was important to me - or else complaining the. entire. time.
