Ok Ladies, do you like to dress sexy/beautiful for your boyfriend, husband or just because you like to? most of us dress sharp for attention, but what kind of attention? I know its sounds superficial but I think its ok to show off your attributes in good taste of course. what would you say is the fine line in the way you dress to attract your/a man and get their attention? as christians what do women think about dressing beautiful/sexy in and out of church? list differences ;D guys are welcomed for imput as well.

I was taught that certain parts of a lady should always be covered, but I'd also been in gymnastics/dance from preschool age on, and the showing of legs, arms and abs was not that big of a deal...until the past year or so. When I became a worship leader, I decided that if I can't wear something to church, I don't wear it, as I have become a role model for younger girls. My accountability level has increased.

When I'm with someone, I want to wear things he likes. I think most ladies do.

With regard to sexiness, I have only this to say about that - a woman doesn't have to show everything her momma gave her in order to be sexy. A woman honors her husband by keeping certain things for his eyes only. Having said that, what she wears at home is between them.... I'll just leave it at that.

I'm totally fine with girls/woman dressing up to look beautiful, but there's a little phrase that I believe is SO true. Modesty is a Chrisitan's man best friend. I love it when girls/women dress up, please look pretty, but please cover up. :)

I love dressing pretty. I dont have a boyfriend or husbond to dressup for. But when I dress nice I feel great and it puts me in a good mood. So does putting on makeup. I do not like to show my cleavage. I think that is wrong for a woman to do. I also look at things this way; I dont want a man who wants a woman who shows her breasts. I dont think that type of man has respect for women.

I think it depends on where you go as well....for instance when you go to the beach you are not expected to be all covered. But in general, especially for women although men also have to set a line, some parts of your body have to stay covered. As long as it doesn't draw the wrong attention, and doesn't make your brother/sister fall into sin , I think it's fine to wear whatever you like in modesty.

When I dress I like to feel pretty, and not because I necessarily want to get a man, but Idk...I guess every girl likes to feel pretty in some way or another. I've noticed that when I like someone I get even more aware of what I'm wearing, so that's also another reason :).

Modesty , yes, good , adeK, and, not only is 'modesty dressing by a girl a christian guy's best friend,' as , i think , was how adeK put it,, but ladies dressing immodestly is a guy's worst enemy, for some , not all, but just the 'some' word should be enough for you not to do it.

Do what, green?

Fantasize, my ladies. :(

So , not that you can't wear shorts and midriffs, just wear shirts, halters, underneath.

The Lord leads, WAIT on Him, don't have seductive dress get a wrong guy thinking wrong thoughts, and, worse yet, asking you out then with wrong intentions :(

And, sorry, if I sound too 'daddy' to you, all, but I pray the Lord leads all my thoughts and I want the very BEST from Him for all of miladies :)

think of it this way - what ever you are wearing ! Will you still wear it when Jesus stand next to you ?? Will what you are wearing make Jesus proud or shy ??

Thought of this while reading one of the above posts:

The finest clothing made is a person's skin, but, of course, society demands something more than this. -Mark Twain

Sorry for the randomness.lol

I like to look gud in any style XD guys like diff stuff. casual t-shirt, dressy evening gown, cute skirt, formal suit, country, emo...as for modesty...I wont wear a tiny dress or short shorts in public. I feel I dont need to really. A person can be attractive enough without showing off 7/8 of their body...and maybe even more attractive if they arent depending on what your looking for. a modest person looking for a soul mate or a showy one thats shares theirselves off to the world.

In general I wear jeans and skirts. With skirts I use my knee or lower as an acceptable length. I never wear short shorts unless Im swimming since Ive discovered longer shorts are a pain to swim in. I used to wear a bikini when I was younger (and more in shape!) but in the last couple of years Ive been convicted re bikini's and I plan on never wearing one again unless me and my husband were alone with no one around at all.

My rule is, fashionably prudish in public (I like to look pretty but well covered) and generally slutty for my husband in private, which I is think is biblical.

One of my faveorite movie quotes ever is from 'My Big Fat Greek Wedding' when the Mum on the night before her daughters wedding tells her - "My mother, she said to me 'We may be lambs in the kitchen, but we are tigers in the bedroom!' " Except Id change kitchen for public just so you get my meaning :D

It's s not that I necessarily change something, I just try harder to look good I guess. Maybe apply some makeup if I'm not wearing any, or instead of wearing sporty clothes that day because I'm feeling lazy I wear something more...feminine.
Although I don't get obsessed about it either, if he likes me when I'm wearing something nice he should like me when I'm wearing a sweatshirt and pants :D

I think that goes without saying if a man likes you when you're a sweaty mess, than he's a keeper ;D
