As I read the following article on Yahoo! today, I kept my collective thoughts safely in my head…until I reached the following quote:

“The fact that Christians (and others) have achieved new knowledge and deeper understanding of human embodiment and sexuality seems to require that we at least examine the possibility of development in sexual ethics.”

This is exactly what is wrong with the church today. If God had ever intended us to alter His Word and our stand on sexual ethics due to ‘new knowledge and [supposed] deeper understanding’, He would have said so in His Word. Why is it that we think we have ‘evolved’ to a level that makes us wiser than God and able to decide that His Word can no longer apply to our lives? The foolishness of man is obvious. Listen to the words that come out of the mouths of others as they seek to justify their compromises. The above quote is what you will hear every time, albeit differing in the word choices. This is the lie of satan, that we have somehow come to an age and time when we can move past the relevance of God’s Word and make our own sexual moral and ethical law.

God’s Word is always relevant and applicable, it is infallible and timeless, and the minute you stop believing this, you are in grave danger. His Word says that there is nothing new under the sun, which means that no matter how far along we come, God has seen it all before, as has man. It may be more visible due to the shrinking of the world via internet and such, but there is nothing new in the realm of sin. God’s Word says to flee sexual immorality. That’s it. There is no extenuating circumstances. It doesn’t say to flee sexual immorality unless you have achieved new knowledge and deeper understanding. It says to flee sexual immorality. His Word says to have no hint of impurity in your life. Why do we feel that we can pick and choose our own moral code and not have any consequences?

when looking at the final days we see in Revelations that most of the churches were rebuked for sexual immorality, even the whole book of Jude alludes to the sexual immorality that is coming in the future......and we are living to see its fulfilment, even professing christians don't beat an eye at infidelity or homosexuality these days

Yeah with the high rate of teen pregnancy, the spread of STDs, broken homes, broken lives, screwed up relationships, it's sadly laughable that the 'world' would try and lecture us on sexual ethics. Everything they prescribe has lead to making us even more broken.

2 Peter 2

17 These people are springs without water, mists driven by a whirlwind. The gloom of darkness has been reserved for them. 18 For by uttering boastful, empty words, they seduce, with fleshly desires and debauchery, people who have barely escaped from those who live in error. 19 They promise them freedom, but they themselves are slaves of corruption, since people are enslaved to whatever defeats them. 20 For if, having escaped the world’s impurity through the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, they are again entangled in these things and defeated, the last state is worse for them than the first. 21 For it would have been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness than, after knowing it, to turn back from the holy command delivered to them. 22 It has happened to them according to the true proverb: A dog returns to its own vomit, [j] and, “a sow, after washing itself, wallows in the mud.”

Proverbs 16:18 "Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall." Believing you have gained enough wisdom or knowledge to go against the Scripture is prideful and sinful.

Moral of The story: CUT out the things that make you sin, understand God''s ability to flee you from temptation, remember scripture for real-life examples of those that fled temptation.

Cut out or cut off. God says if a part of your body makes you sin, cut it off. This is figurative language, obviously, but the meaning is clear, your body parts sinning get a consequence of your afterlife in Hell, and, this statement was made by Jesus ( Matt. 5:29 , 18:9, Mark 9:47), more than once, twice...Sexual immorality has a seed of beginning that is lust. Good that we can choose with the Holy Spirit in us to resist this sin that can affect our eternity location--Heaven or Hell . Greater is He who is in you than he(Satan) who is in the world and he is who tempts us with this sin.

Understand that God has given us the power to flee temptation.
Read 2 Cor. 7:10 , which speaks of your temptation normal (EVERYONE is tempted), and, with temptation before our eyes, God will provide a way out. :)

Joseph fled temptation, he was fully following God in His life, and, admittedly, he messed up telling his brothers and parents they would one day bow to him. But God got Joseph out of the pit his brothers put him, a bad consequence , of that decision , to tell mom, dad, brothers that his dream had them bowing down to him. Anyway, Joseph went on, fleed Pharoah's wife but still (wrongly) put in prison a bit of time, and, he went on to being a leader in power only behind Pharoah in all of Egypt. :)

They have tried to re-define what LIFE is so they can kill whatever is "inconvenient". They are trying to re-define what marriage is so they can bring it down to man's level. Now this...wow...

That article belongs in this book:

There is a quote in the movie Bride Wars that is the only thing I truly remember from that movie. It says, “You do not alter Vera Wang to fit you, you alter yourself to fit Vera Wang."

I think that Christians today look at the Word of God as something to be adapted and altered to fit the times and their lives rather than seeing it the way it should be seen, which is: you do not alter God’s holy and infallible Word to fit you, you alter yourself to fit His Word. Oh, Lord, may it be so with me!

I have seen christians trying to adapt bible to them, but what bother me most is that some christians see the bible like something written in a book outside from their daily life (like any other book or a theory of something) and when someone mention them that this or that versicle can be applied in an specific situation they answer that the bible may say something but that reality is a completely different thing. There are sometimes that i wonder if im the only one that think that the bible is practice and not only a book to read

But i have to say that if i had followed the advices of some christians i would had been married years ago, with a non christian haha, but married :D or thinking better that........maybe i would be already divorced lol

I agree, Liz. To so many people it is just a book.... They have no understanding of holy things. :( Maybe that's our fault...I don't know...

We are definitely in an age of apostasy in the church as we see many "mainstream" denominations accepting openly homosexual ministers, some even claiming that sex outside of marriage is ok as long as the couple is "dedicated" to each other. Paul told Timothy this would happen 2000 years ago. All we can do today is stand for truth and sound doctrine in our churches and try to correct those who are in error, many of which will fall into the category covered in this verse.

2nd Timothy 4:3-4 (NLT) For a time is coming when people will no longer listen to sound and wholesome teaching. They will follow their own desires and will look for teachers who will tell them whatever their itching ears want to hear. They will reject the truth and follow strange myths.

Good post! About the article;
* What does it say about what a generation of children have been taught by [some] wayward nuns?
* How has it manifested itself in society, this new sexual eth[n]ic (sic) ?
* Has it contributed to the Sex Abuse Scandals we so often hear about today (from the last 40 years) in the Catholic Church?

Br. Nathanael: Are Catholics beginning to react against Jewish control of the Catholic Church?

E. Michael Jones: Indeed they are. Our Bishops are beginning to as well. This is because dialogue has become a synonym for Jewish subversion of Church teaching.

After years of dialogue, the US Conference of Catholic Bishops under the direction of Cardinal Keeler, issued a joint Catholic Jewish statement in 2002 on “Covenant and Mission” which affirmed that Jews could be saved without accepting Christ as their saviour.

However, in June 2009 the same bishops had to issue a “clarification” which repudiated their own statement. It turns out that, upon reflection, the bishops concluded that the Mosaic covenant between God and the Jews was no longer “eternally valid,” and that Jews did have to convert if they wanted to be saved after all.

Br. Nathanael: You say that dialogue is a synonym for Jewish subversion of Catholic teaching. Are there any examples of this activity by organized Jewry?

E. Michael Jones: Yes. In spite of all the dialogue, Jewry’s hidden agenda to subvert the Church came to the fore recently.
On September 17, 2009, the Anti-Defamation League, the American Jewish Committee, B’nai B’rith International, the Central Conference of American Rabbis, Hadassah, the Jewish Council for Public Affairs, the National Council of Jewish Women, Na’amat USA, the Rabbinical Assembly, the Religious Action Center of Reform Judaism, and the Women of Reform Judaism, all signed a friend of the court brief demanding that Obama allow the Catholic Church no exemptions of “Right of Conscience” when it comes to hiring homosexuals. Jews allow for themselves “right of conscience” but will not allow it for Catholics.

The intent behind Jewry’s court brief to Obama is to create a fifth column within the Catholic Church, one which, because of the nature of its sexual activities, can be used to prompt a whole new series of lawsuits. With “Elder Brothers” like this, as Catholic-Jewish dialogue has defined the Jews, who needs enemies?

Br. Nathanael: How did Abraham Foxman of the ADL respond to the Bishops’ assertion that Jews must embrace Christ?

E. Michael Jones: Foxman was outraged by what he considered a volte face on dialogue. In September 2009, Foxman delivered a scathing denunciation of the Bishops’ clarification. But the simple fact remained: Whenever the bishops engaged in dialogue with the Jews, they repudiated the Gospel.

Conversely, when our Bishops acted on their own and reaffirmed the Gospel, they invariably outraged the Jews. This leads me to refine my previous statement: The Church can proclaim the Gospel or she can pursue good relations with the Jews. But she can’t do both.

Br. Nathanael: Why do you think the Jews become outraged at the preaching of the Gospel?

E. Michael Jones: Anyone who has read the Gospel of St. John or the Acts of the Apostles or St. Paul’s Epistle to the Thessalonians should know the answer. It’s because the Jews rejected Christ, and in rejecting Christ they rejected Logos, and in rejecting Logos — the Reason for the universe and its redemption — they became, not only as St. Paul puts it, “enemies of the entire human race,” but foes of the moral and political order of the universe. As a result, the Jews engage in continual anarchy against reason and truth, a decision they solemnly ratified when they chose Barabbas over Christ.

Rejection of Jesus Christ is the core of Jewish identity. And this identity will remain so until the Jews repudiate their rejection of Jesus Christ and accept Him as their saviour.

In American football coaches carry a little red flag. If I were a coach I would be throwing mine right about now.
