I've seen a lot of comments like "let God do all the work" or "I'm not even looking because I know God will bring me the right person", etc...

I'm not going to deny the validity of such statements, but here's a question: what (if any) is YOUR role in the relationship process? (other than trusting God)

I firmly believe that we should start praying for the one God will send to us. If you believe that God will send that person soon enough , then don't giving up on praying about it and thanking God for sending that person to you.

Like just the process of finding of someone?

Our role is to prepare ourselves to be a godly husband (or wife). I don't even pray for a wife, because I know that is something that God has planned for me. My focus is on improving my own character and investing in my relationship with God. When God does bring someone into my life I should be prepared to handle both the challenges and the blessings that come along with love. If God wants me to be single for awhile longer, that's fine because girls are a pain anyway :p jk

There is a nice little story to that:
A man is trapped on a lonely island. Every day he prays for God to help him. After a few weeks, a ship arrives at the island. But the man says "Leave me here! God will come and save me."
So the ship leaven and the man stays on the island. And again he prays everyday to be rescued.
After another couple of weeks a second ship finds the man. But again he insists on staying, knowing that god will come and rescue him.
Another week passes and the man is getting really sick. He has no food left and is close to his death. With his last breath he asks:
"God, why didn't you come for me?"
And God answeres:
"I sent you two boats. What else did you expect me to do?"

Sure, God will help us. But if you just stay at home, you won't meet anyone. It is up to ourselfes to act.

I would never argue with a comment about girls being a pain. We hone our skills of being a pain to men our whole lives and it's nice to see that all that hard work hasn't gone unnoticed! lol

Oh believe me, it's DEFINITELY not unnoticed by me! I have 2 sisters (no brothers), 2 neices (no nephews), and I bet that when I have kids I'm going to have all daughters too Lucky me! lol

My dad had three older sisters, only daughters, and spent most of his adult life with mainly female co-workers. Sounds like you two would sympathize, lol!

Oh ya, and I'm a school teacher so I work with mostly females too. I swear, if I hear one more child birth story...

Just wait until you get to hear all the potty-training stories play-by-play as well... size, color, shape, texture, accidents, consistency, freqency, smell. ACK!!! (But maybe you've already endured some of this.) Being a childless single gal working amongst several good-hearted (but desperately seeking someone to talk to) mothers... I'd rather go back to hearing about the birthings, believe me.
