I don't think that racism is right especially coming from christian people.I would like to think that these are the people who help people when things like this occur but lately I've noticed that its quite popular .Its sad.Any comments on this?or suggestions as to how i cab deal with this if it happens to me.

I don't quite know really. I've never been around any REAL racism. I've certainly never been the target of it.

I have had a couple experiences. One was the guy's mom I was seeing told him in front of me and friends that his girlfriend better not be the white one. She later found out I was his girlfriend and wouldn't allow him to hang out with our group anymore. The other time I was with one of my friends and she had to run to her house for something and I came, I had to wait outside while everyone else went in because she said her family doesn't like white people and her mom didn't know she was friends with me.
I was so hurt both times because I didn't see color as a line of segregation, I love everyone the same.
God doesn't judge based on color. Remember those who judge will be judged the same by the lord.

One can only wonder why these people stay in a country with so many whites in it. Sickening.

Much of the political correctness of the day is targeted against you as white (and white male to that). You are just not (yet) aware of it.

Hi welcome to CC Staci..well myself being a 'minority' i have a quite different/opposing view to the others that while there is some racism..there will always be some who are racist..i do not believe it is as prevalent as some may say it is..you will have those that make a living off elevating the 'injustices of racism' but as a whole i believe we have come a long way as a nation. Unfortunately the liberal media doesn't want to let that be known and wants minorities to think that the 'white man' has held them down, when its the media and the minority blackman/asianman/red man/brown;latino man has held himself down/kept himself back. White man doesn't have to hold you down, the minority with the racist/everyone is out to get me or discriminate against me complex has held him/her down. Just my two cents..not saying it is easy to overcome this, but i do feel that the black man/black woman/minorities have come a long way and have overcome! I just wish they could see that! I mentioned this to a sweet older black man who is a baptist preacher who deals with a lot of what happened when he was younger, before i was around..i told him, Bro you should be proud of yourself..you've overcome so much! I wish you could just see that and accept that..he had nothing to respond to that. But i was trying my best to not rebuke him as he is older than i..yea.

Human beings are racist by nature.
By "racist" I mean, we are genetically prone to be biased toward those physically different than us.

This is why in nearly every high school across the country, white kids tend to fraternize among whites, blacks with blacks, and hispanics with hispanics.

There are two types of racism: a natural inborn tendency to segregate or be biased, and the other which is actively and willingly despise and alienate others of a different race.

This is why you can never eliminate racism, but steps can be taken to mitigate and hopefully suffocate hate-fueled racism.

Keep in mind that humanity is corrupt by nature. That is an inescapable reality.

I honestly guess since i am not looking for it, i no longer have a sensitivity to race as i used to when i was younger..so i am not lookng for anyone to have 'done me wrong as far as my ethnicity is concerned' sure i have been called a racial slur like maybe four or five times in my life that i remember..but that was so few and far between..i just walk away, people spew hatred out of ignorance. I am better than that, i know im not this 'expletive' whatever they choose to label and hurl in my direction..I am a son of God! That said, i do my best to just not be sensitive in this area..so i think different than many other latinos/hispanics in this area of my life. I'm not waiting to be discriminated against..

Two of my best friends on the planet are a black man married to a white woman. They both have amazingly beautiful hearts and have served the Lord fearlessly since I met them 20+ years ago. They have one of the strongest, most loving marriages I've ever seen. NOTHING and NO ONE comes between them. Why? Because they have had to fight SO hard for so long to be together.

I have seen and heard people (even christian people at the church we attended) say terrible things about them and it hurt me deeply. I can't even begin to imagine what they have been through.

Racism is foolishness. There's no other word for it.

How does one deal with it? I don't know personally (I'm an extremely white redhead who is teased all the time about this), but my friends know who they are and who they are in Christ. I can't imagine anything helping more than that.

I did witness something I thought was very strange a few years back... I was in the parking lot at a mall with my older stepbrother, whose mother was Cherokee. He has very dark hair and complexion. While he was putting things in the trunk of the car, an hispanic guy began speaking to him in spanish and when my brother didn't respond because he didn't understand (and was a bit confused), the guy got angry with him and began calling him names. I DO speak spanish and it was clear that the guy thought my stepbrother was being stuck up by not responding to him. He apparently assumed my stepbrother was hispanic as well. So, I suppose racism works in many ways...

I found this brief documentary by John Piper very enlightening, concerning the racism he was taught as a child and how he overcame it.

I think it's sad that most people when they're talking about racism here in the States think only of white racism towards minorities, yet fail to contemplate minority on minority, or minority on white racism. I've seen it go all ways. It just isn't politically correct to mention the others.

What is by far more sad though in my opinion is that Sunday morning is still the most segregated time of the week.

I'm don't know if anyone else has seen this or not but in my experience the various minorities are often more racist than the white folks. Often toward each other just as much as toward whites.

Ahh you just gotta tell the devil your not buying into his crap and ask God to empty your heart of anything that pops into your head and ask him to help you love everyone equally and to see them as human beings that HE loves. He always helps me with this. Racism is a very very VERY ugly tool the devil likes to get his hands on and exploit. Remember its a battle you do NOT have to struggle with, God takes it right away from you if only you ask.

And with this you are trying to say exactly what? "Unconditional love"???

I don't believe in racism either, its just an excuse that some people use to make them feel more powerful than someone else and that is very wrong. God sent his son Jesus to die on the Cross so that anyone might be saved. This means anyone of any race of any age of either gender. I'm sorry you have to see that kind of stuff in your life Staci. I respect you and love you as a brother in Christ. :) Jesus would want everyone to love one another, so why not follow his example?
