I need to join TSAA... Thread Starting Addicts Anonymous

Anyway... it's easy (and let's face it, kind of fun) to say bad things about our exes. So let's make this thread the place where you say something nice about your ex(es).

I'll start with saying that boyfriend #1 was a great friend, a lot of fun to talk to, and a genuinely good guy.

Whoa, Musical... you are posting a true challenge here. I am going to have to muster up a LOT of faith for this one... *takes the plunge* Well, my ex-husband was always VERY good about consuming my cooking--even my mistakes, and there were many... whether it was dried out, a tad too crispy (read: burned to the pan), or just plain ruined... he would still take a plateful (we were poor college students and couldn't afford to throw anything out!) and declare it delicious. He must have gotten this from his dad, who graciously did the same when my father-in-law came to stay with us for a week (his dad would sit down, take a bite, and declare, "Outstanding!" His dad was a teacher... maybe... drama? :)) But it was appreciated. My ex loved seafood (me, not so much--only very certain thing cooked very certain ways) so I spent an entire day one time looking up a recipe, shopping for ingredients... chopping and preparing... stuffed sole--tried to make it as "elegant" as possible--and he took one bite, smiled a huge smile and said, "Who needs to eat in restaurants?!" and was being totally sincere (believe me, it was a very generous compliment! But one of the best I've ever received in my life.) Those are the times I miss being married. Aw... will hopefully do even better the next time.

Boyfriend #2 always treated me with respect. And he put up with my best friend, who once punched him in the face.

(keep in mind my husband was not around much so there is not many of these to pull out...lol) You all may think this is silly....but hey, its what I have to work with! lol

When I was pregnant with my daughter, my due date came and went and I was overdue and NOT happy about it. One quite humid day, Mike tried to make me smile, and take my mind off the extra 63 lbs that was hanging on my body. (yes, I said 63, lol)

He said, "If my mother ate as much chocolate when she was pregnant with me as you have eaten with this pregnancy...I would have not wanted to come out either!"

(it worked, I smiled)
