LEAF PEOPLE
Some people come into your life and they are like leaves on a tree. They are only there for a season. You can't depend on them or count on them because they are weak and only there to give you shade. Like leaves, they are there to take what they need and as soon as it gets cold or a wind blows in your life they are gone. You can't be angry at them, it's just who they are.

BRANCH PEOPLE
There are some people who come into your life and they are like branches on a tree. They are stronger than leaves, but you have to be careful with them. They will stick around through most seasons, but if you go through a storm or two in your life it's possible that you could lose them. Most times they break away when it's tough. Although they are stronger than leaves, you have to test them out before you run out there and put all your weight on them. In most cases they can't handle too much weight. But again, you can't be mad with them, it's just who they are.

ROOT PEOPLE
If you can find some people in your life who are like the roots of a tree then you have found something special. Like the roots of a tree, they are hard to find because they are not trying to be seen. Their only job is to hold you up and help you live a strong and healthy life. If you thrive, they are happy. They stay low key and don't let the world know that they are there. And if you go through an awful storm they will hold you up. Their job is to hold you up, come what may, and to nourish you, feed you and water you.

Just as a tree has many limbs and many leaves, there are few roots. Look at your own life. How many leaves, branches and roots do you have? What are you in other people's lives?

So we could add two: Fruits and Flowers
People who are like are also there for a season, but unlike the leaves, they give back. They provide nourishment. In many ways they are probably similar to the roots. They also give life to whoever they meet, because they carry the seeds to build newer trees. But, unlike the roots, they are not meant to be forever in your life.

And Flowers: they are the glitz and glamour. It's all about them? They are the ones that stand out the most, and bring in the attraction. People flock around them, because they desire to be like them. However, they flee at the first sign of trouble, just like the leaves.

Becky, since this is your thread, what do you think about the above statements? Do you agree with it? How would you describe these types of people?

Rhizomes would be the people who influence your life for the better, but you're not aware of how great their impact was, until later. Even years later.

He leaves it to beck to ground us into thinking about what kind of friends we have planted in our lives and what kind of friend we should be to others, branching off from our 'Vine.' . Divine thread, milady. :)

I understand the fruit message and agree with you fully....As for the Flowers message, I can't agree with it because I don't believe people should be flocking to people...but Soley Jesus...That is my opinion on it....

That's just it though, Becky, I don't exactly see the flowers as people who are Christian. Sure some of them may play at being a Christian, but in reality, they are not.

Beck, please be kind with your grade, think of it like 'Mrs. Doughtfire' (Robin Williams) creativity.
Robin Williams just pegged the debonair Pierce Brosnan with a fruit, and, Williams, dressed as Mrs. D said something like: ' oh, oh, I can't believe these things happen. It must have been a drive-by fruiting.' :D

Vkat , just kidding around here, ya knoow :?)

What does this mean, hot guy :D

And, hey, if you are hot, do you w-w-wanna go out with lightnin' and me on Saturday night?? :D (see lookalike thread)
(((((()))))---------(((((())))))

Ok, beck, milady, my extremest of green apologies , sorry, for ker-rashin your brilliantly led thread, my thread, can you find it in your little, rooted, heart in Him to forgive widdo ole green me, a bear of very tiny brain :)

'I am the vine. You are the branches.'. Scripture says this, Jesus says this.
U believe ^this^ ?

Regarding this thread, for allegorical study further, I recommend you reading a small book by 'Prayer of Jabez' author, Bruce Wilkinson's 'The Secret Of The Vine.' :)
