What scripture verse(s) help to get you through those particularly rough times of being single?

For me it's Isaiah 54:1-10 (that's a link, if you want to read it - in case your Bible isn't close by)

Great idea Musical!

For me, it's Philippians 4:13

I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

That verse gets me through so much in life, including being single.

For my personal pillow project of choice, I'm choosing a heart-shaped satin pillow with a ruffled edge... possibly with piping and lace. (This is a spin-off from the Dating: A Family Affair thread for anyone who didn't catch the last page or two. :))

MusicalMe, you rock. AND needlepoint a mean pillow. (I've given up trying to compete with Musical's vast array of talents.)

As for my passages of choice... as stated in my profile I love Jeremiah 29:11because in it, God says He has GOOD thoughts towards us... plans to give us a HOPE and a FUTURE (no matter what our past has been) and that if we seek Him with all our heart, we will FIND HIM.

I also love Jeremiah 33:3-- "Call to Me and I will show you great and unsearchable things that you do not know." I LOVE that, the fact that I can ask God ANYTHING. It doesn't matter how personal, complex, frivolous, or trivial... God wants to hear from us.

Can you imagine that? The Maker of Everything wants to know what's on OUR minds!

As you can see, I have a personal thing for the book of Jeremiah because his personality is very similar to mine--up and down, back and forth, sideways and over!! So for me, watching how God interacted with Jeremiah is very personal and comforting.

I suppose though... that I would need a VERY big pillow to stitch the entire book of Jeremiah on it... :)

You could make a Jeremiah quilt and leave the pillows for smaller passages.

Once again, Musical rocks :). Although, the idea of a whole quilt seems daunting... :)

Maybe, but I hold a guy who would even attempt a needle crafting project in the highest regard! (Most would think it's below them and too much of a "sissy" activity... I would LOVE to find a guy who was into craft projects as one of his hobbies...)

We did a sewing craft for the youth in VBS. The guys did pretty well and didn't complain too badly

Thanks for making me laugh, ChristianCollegeGirl :).

I mean, if they WOULD have complained loudly... I guess I would have just put in my earplugs :).

I used to really try but its not my gift I am not stable enough in my hand and arms to actually do something as detailed as needle point or most crafts.
