Okay, I believe that the Lord will give me a wife name Michelle Louis. I know he wants me to go to New Orleans. The name sounds French, and theres a lot of French down there. I so believe this that I stopped flirting a lot. I was going to enter into this relationship with this girl I liked, but I kept thinking of the name. I imagine me talking to her, what she looks like, am I Crazy?

Have you talked to your pastor or mentor about this? I certainly think it may be possible, but I would definitely get some confirmation first before trying to search out a girl with this name or putting everything on hold while trying to find her.

Are you certain it's going to be the name of your wife... or perhaps God is putting a name on your heart to give to a future daughter?

I have had instances where I believed God told me about someone in advance whom I met (years later), and I used to think it was because I was to marry that person, but it's never been so. I have also had times when I thought I was supposed to go to a certain place, meet a certain person... and it never happened or worked out, so I know it wasn't God.

My advice would be, PROCEED with CAUTION and please, get the advice of others who have a long history of being familiar with God's voice.

Our children's pastor and his wife wanted to adopt a child for a long time. They believed God gave them a specific name for a daughter for a specific reason.

When the agency called them to let them know they had matched them with a baby, they were SHOCKED to find out the baby they had for them... was a boy.

Now if they would have said, "No, no, we're waiting on the little girl God has promised us--He gave us a name and everything," they would have missed out on having a son. They adopted this little boy (he is their first child) and he is the light of their lives. This was about 5 years ago.

Do they believe they heard from God? Yes. But they think it might be a future reference (and yes, they are looking into adopting a second child.)

My point is, even though in this case they do believe they heard from God (not all instances are from God, in my experience--some are, but some are not), they did not put their lives completely on hold because of a specific name and gender, and they were open to other opportunities God had for them as well.

I hope you find a balance in doing the same.

Hi there, God has set trusted principles in his Word that we can follow. I would advise 2 books in this area:

God is a matchmaker - by Derek Prince
Matchmade in Heaven - by Sunil and Janeene Chothi

both should be available at Amazon
Godbless

I'm personally suspicious when the names of our fantasies are rather refined , such as Michelle Louise, has a nice ring to it doesn't it? But....

Do you ever dream of a woman named Dolorus Sidebottom (and Dolorus if you are reading this by any chance, then please drop me a line)? If not, then ask yourself if it is not just your imagination. Think about it, who in their right mind fantasises about the average woman and not some model-like beauty?

Mahogony's dream woman would have her bottom... on her side??? Sorry, I couldn't resist. I can only be "good" here for so long, people. :)
