Hey Everyone :)

One of our great posters here in the Singles Forum recently wrote that she has "an obscenely large" bottle of aspirin in her desk that she generously shares with co-workers.

It made me think of the scene in "Pretty Woman" (yes, I'm old :)) in which Julia Robert's character is shopping for clothes on Rodeo Drive. Richard Gere tells the manager at one exclusive shop that he is going to be spending "an obscene amount" of money in the store.

Just for fun, I was thinking... what is your personal ideal of "obscenely" large?

For instance, to me, a medium-sized chocolate chip cookie would probably be the size of a dinner plate. A fairly large cookie would be the size of large pizza.

But an obscenely large chocolate chip cookie? That would be one I could munch on for a week--breakfast, lunch and dinner (and seeing as how much I can consume, that would have to be one big cookie!!!)

How about the rest of you? How would you fill in these blanks:

"A large _______ would be _________, but an obscenely large __________ would be __________!

:D

A large amount of clothes in Florida currently entails wearing a long sleeved shirt AND a sweater. An OBSCENE amount of clothes involves wearing a longer shirt, sweater, scarf, winter boots, gloves and hat.

^^ Lol, Oncefallen... that's just awesome!!!

And the best thing about a cookie is that no special tools (spoon, fork, or chopsticks) are needed. Just a set of paddywacks to pick up the cookie (even that is negotiable) and you're good to go!!

Hellooo--funny that you mention layers of clothes in FL, lol!! I have been in FL for about six months now after living in MI my entire life. I can't understand why people are saying, "It's so cold!!!" when it's 70 degrees outside. My Mom was looking at buying a pair of earmuffs last week!

Good grief. I'm a born and bred Michigander. I'm still wearing shorts and short sleeves. 70 degrees? BAH HUMBUG. That's still practically summer weather. If you ain't shoveling a few feet of snow, it just ain't that cold outside. :D

That's not a cookie. That's an island!
A cookie island? Me likey. At least I wouldn't have to resort to spearing fish and scrounging for potentially poisonous berries.

And, in keeping with my previous post...

A large amount of snow is when I have to start shoving from inside the screen door just to get it open (in order to go outside and shovel the driveway.)

An obscenely large amount of snow was when, as a kid, we had a storm so bad that it shut everything down for a week. The drifts were so high, I climbed to the top of the, walked around the house, and picked the icicles off the edges of the roof by hand.

True story!

A large 100 MILLION DOLLAR check would be nice, but an obscenely large 200 TRILLION BAZILLION dollar check would be lovely :D

If a cookie "standing up" is taller than I am (5'7" or taller), it's obscenely large. If it's one inch shorter than me or under, then it's just reallyreallyreallyreally big.

Same with if it weighs more than me.
