Hey guys! I am a 23 year old male from the Virgin Islands. I've been praying for a long time about my future wife and have been asking God and revealing to him (even though he already knows) what I desire. Now I know and understand that His will trumps my desires which is totally fine with me. I have recently changed my prayer and started to ask for specific young lady. I have observed her for a period of time and she is every thing that I desire and so much more. She almost matches what I was praying for to a capital T. My question is, it is wrong to ask God for a specific person? If not should I use these similarities in qualities as a sign that God has answered my past prayers? Will it happen organically or would i have to step out on a limb to see if that is exactly who God has placed in my path?

I subscribe to the command given in Matthew 6:9. Pray that God's will be done. Seek it and you will find His will, which is far more perfect than ours could ever be.

That said, I have and do talk to God about what my own desires are. I share with Him (even though He already knows), what I think I would like. And ask Him 'Lord, if these are not your desires, please help me to understand.' I think there is great power and righteousness found in following Luke 9:23 which states that to be a follower of Christ, we must deny ourselves and follow Christ daily.

Wishing you the best.
