Hey Everyone,

I've always been more of a Star Wars girl than Star Trek so I have to go to the experts! :)

I was in another chat today and regularly joke with another user there. He said he had a passport to visit this country someday, and I said, "Are you sure it wasn't a warrant?"

He then proceeded to tell me, as he often does :) that I am "a little garden gnome who could star in a play about elves," (because I'm short.)

I then replied, "A gnome who could play an elf? Isn't that like saying a Vulcan could play a Romulan and that they are virtually interchangeable?"

The room exploded into a mad Star Trek frenzy, during which I was further educated about the two species.

With all the talk about race in another thread, I thought this might be a good springboard for a bit of fun regarding the mixing of races/species.

So, my question is... If Vulcans are all about logic, and Romulans are all about emotion (so I was told), what happens if a Vulcan and Romulan marry and have children?

Would they be bipolar... or... normal...? :D

Not meaning any disrespect! I'm sure there have been such characters on the show? Tell me about them and what they were like? Just wanted to know the answers from the true experts here at CC! :)

That's funny! I'm more of a Star Wars girl myself so I won't be of much help, but maybe they would be normal since they would have the correct amount of logic and emotion, not totally one or the other. If that makes sense.

This is exactly what I was wondering...

Has anyone seen the TNG two-parter episode called Reunification? It deals with this.

Well, then you could get into how much of that is inherited genetically and how much is learned. Genetics are a funny thing! My twin looks more like my mom and acts more like my dad, and I look more like my dad and act more like my mom. Actually I have traits from both (so does my sister) but it makes me wonder how much of that is actually in my genes.

The whole nature vs. nurture thing, in which I would say that it's both. ;)

It's left somewhat open-ended, but it implies that Ambassador Spock (Leonard Nimoy) remains on Romulus to oversee the reunification of Vulcan and Romulus. Just how old is this character in the 24th century?
