p.s. I know about 1 Timothy 6:10 (The love of money is the root of all evil), but I still think its an interesting question to ask.

Buy myself a nice big historical mansion with huge lawns and gardens, travel the world, open businesses, use it for good and helping people.

keep 500,000 and give the rest away to someone who wants to go to school but can't because they have financial obligations to their families

If you kept $500,000 out of $100 million, and gave the rest for someone to go to school, i think that person would probably end up not going to school at all. haha

Again, Zero, sorry to get a bit off-topic here but it's amazing to me that some Christians believe having money is somehow evil and treat anyone with money as if they are a "sinner".

The passage states that "the love of money" is a root of many kinds of evil... not that having or being being able to make money is evil. Some people were blessed with business sense and it was a gift specifically from God (I am not personally one of them, but hey!)

The patriarchs (Abraham, Isaac, Jacob) and many other Biblical figures (David, Job, etc.) didn't wind up poor. I've heard it said that Abraham would have quite possibly been a billionaire in today's money (do you think he would have had a gold-plated saddle for his camel???)

Anyway :) I know someone who is blessed with great business sense so I would entrust the $ to that person in the hopes that I could use the interest and never touch the principal, setting it up as something to be passed down through as many generations as possible and take care of whatever needs my family had.

My favorite charity right now is my former orphanage--I currently sponsor 2 kids but with that kind of $ I'd probably sponsor several orphanages, go on a few volunteer trips, then use the rest of the $ to travel... first class!! :D (Flying has become more difficult for me the past few years... I'd be tempted to charter my own plane but it would seem kind of frivolous... unless I could take a big group of friends and family along ;)).

I have also had a dream of being able to pay fellow Christians to do what they love, such as people who love to cook and have the gift of hospitality and service. I'd love to open or sponsor a place, let's say a soup kitchen, that paid all of its staff good salaries, and was not just volunteer work so that people could do things they feel called to do and use it to bring home extra money to their families.

I'd share it with my family. Buy health insurance, dental insurance, and go to the chiropractor every week, and buy all the expensive natural vitamin/herbal health treatments I need. And I'd hire a specialist to help me fix my health issues.

AND I'D BOOK A FIRST CLASS FLIGHT TO ENGLAND!!!!! WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!

I'd buy 2 big houses. One in Ohio surrounded by lots of trees and QUIET neighbors. And another house in Florida, so I could live there when it's winter here, but not have to stay for their ultras muggy summers. :p

And I'd buy a savannah cat (A cross between a domestic cat and an African serval). http://www.prlog.org/10474648-wwwguinnesscatcom.jpg

Oh, and I'd hire maids to do all my chores. HECK YEAH!!!!

And I'd shop at Whole Foods every week, and not look at the prices of stuff when I put them in the cart. :D

I'd hook up my step dad with some loot to say thanks for all the years he's helped me out & then I would give a portion to some sort of trustworthy dog rescue & something to help out native american indians. The rest left over,I'm not sure. Maybe buy or build a nice little house somewhere, like what the Hobbits lived in. lol I don't know. I am very simplistic & not really into having tons of material things. Not because I am super-spiritual,but because the more you have, the more you have to maintain it..and by nature I'm lazy. LOL I hate to dust things. Right now,my coffee table & end tables in the living room need dusting...but there they sit...dusty. Once I start dusting those, then I have to dust the tv,then the stereo, then the lamps...and so on.

hmmm $100m in my country is equivalent to 4 billion pesos wow!

Php15 million or $375 000 is enough for my house
Php 2million or $50 000 for 2 cars
Php 500 million or $12.5 million for business

So I just need these...

$425,000
$12.5 million
I still have $75,000 or Php 3 million for the party!!!! wooohooo... Everybody is invited!!!!!!

So far, I still have $87,000 000
$10 million will go to Church/(incl. renovation, gospel work, mission, etc.)

Now for the $77m or Php 3,080,000,0000,(I still have around 3billion) I dreamed to put up a foundation for street kids in my country, put up a college school for free for less fortunate but of course there's qualification for that(character wise, their struggles in life, how badly they want it, so basically for those deserving only), but I need to weigh in all the expenses first and make feasibility study if giving them scholarship is better than funding a free college school. :D Need more time for that to decide...
Also for the elderly, I hate seeing them being abandoned or put in elderly homes, their families should be the one taking care of them but since their numbers are increasing I want to help them out too or maybe just give financial support to those existing elderly homes and put up a livelihood program for the homeless but I need to think a good business first to keep making money to support all of these and start a small foundation first.

So yeaaahhhh, that's pretty much what I want to do with that money and of course my ultimate dream is to travel around the world with my family but I will get that expenses from my business income and for my close relatives too if they need help. That's all!!! :D

And Zero, thank you for making me daydream before I go to bed! :D

Oh man, I just saw the coolest book today on the best treehouses around the world with a-ma-zing color photographs that totally stopped the beating of my heart, if only for a few minutes!!!

I am so totally going to have to add a blinged-out, totally trippin' treehouse to my list... complete with a chapel (with stained glass windows, of course), an elevator, and a ground level for any of my friends who are afraid of heights!!! :D

First, I'd pay off all my school loans and other debts that I have. I'd get a nice, modern mini-SUV (I really don't know what they're called). I'd buy my parents a house, as well as my sister and her husband, and my brother. I'd give money to my family (cousins, aunts, uncles, and grandparents included). I'd buy a modest house. I really don't want a huge house/mansion. I'd love to have a place out in South Dakota or Wyoming, with horses.

I'd put some into savings for my wedding (which I actually don't want to spend that much on at all) and for traveling for my husband and I after we got married, there are so many places I want to see! I'd save enough for having children and putting some into their college/after high school fund (but I don't want to pay for their whole college, call me mean but I want them to work for it too).

I feel like even after all that, I'd still have a lot left. I can think of many ministries and churches I would be giving money to. I would also have a separate fund to give to families who need it and help them get back on their feet. I'd like to think that I'd keep my head and not go crazy buying things. I feel like I would want a simple life, enough to be somewhat comfortable, but I'd want to give a lot of it away to people/groups that really need it. If God gave that money to me, I'd want a lot of it to go back into furthering His kingdom.

Didn't mean to Jesus juke it, but I've thought about that question before and that's what my current plan is. Not that I have to plan much, it will never happen. ;)

Buy a castle somewhere in Europe and set myself up a nice life out there. Live there with my family. A 5-10 mill will go to various charities and organizations. Oh and I would hire a chef that makes the greatest sushi and have for dinner ever night. And maybe hire a professional to go look for a guy for me :p

Yes, some people believe all manner of wrong things and still claim the name of Christ. Someday many will be surprised when Christ doesn't claim them!

p.s. I know about 1 Timothy 6:10 (The love of money is the root of all evil), but I still think its an interesting question to ask.
Def interesting to ask. Even more interesting to sit back and see the answers. I dig that you put in a preemptive strike to avoid getting hit with too many preachy responses.

I'll throw mine out there for the world to judge. ;)

1)I'd have drafted some final divorce & custody papers Exactly the way I want them, then get out my check book & ask her to tell me what her signature is worth.

2)I'd have a Very "bullet proof" trust set up to ensure that my kids were neither spoiled nor had to do without.

3)I'd make arrangements for the sort of situation where my self and those I love could comfortably live off the money that my money made.

4)I'd make arrangements for the same sort of situation, except with the funds disbursed to my church and separately to my CR program.

5)I'd try to focus on doing God's work instead of getting up each day to go to work. Stuff like putting in time sewing spring dresses for the clothing ministry I've worked with, taking my kids on the annual mission trip my church's college group takes to a Primitive part of Mexico, find and fill roles for actively spreading the gospel within our nation's borders, not just overseas.

6)I'd not significantly change my lifestyle, with the exception of getting a used boat and something to get it to the lake. This boat puller (likely some sorta truck... I'm thinking of a particular 1945 International COE that is a diamond in the rough, so I guess I'd take a little money and a lot of time to sweat and bleed it into a serviceable machine) would get the CNG conversion, cause that's just cool & there's many CNG stations here. Other than when a hauler was required, I'd still drive my Honda Fit  because getting good mileage is always a good idea. I'd try to use the boat as an outreach like the guys with Wake Board Church. I'm thankful for them and the way God choose to use them. They not only taught me how to wake board & wake surf, but also got me through one really tough summer.

I reserve the right to make any addendum to this list that I see fit. :p

Well, $100 million is a lot of money, let's say that's after tax. The first thing I would do is take 10% and give that as a tithe to wherever the Lord wants me to distribute it to. Then, I may take another 10% and setup my own organization that can help struggling families and the poor in getting back on their feet, etc. After that, I will want to help my family (and some friends) as much as I can and have them setup for life so that no one has to worry about money anymore. I will then buy my own house, something modest as I don't need a mansion or anything like that. Pay off my car and have some money in my account for the normal bills I will have with the house and all. The rest I will put in a CDARS so that I can have the rest of the money FDIC insured, while having the ease of it being under one umbrella, and all the while earning interest.

And yes, I have day dreamed about this from time to time, which is why I know exactly what I'd do. lol
