If you have been dating for a decent amount of time chances are you know of or have been party to a ridiculous break up.

My favorite ridiculous break up story: A friend of mine broke up with his gf because he hated the smell of her deodorant. I asked him if he ever told her, he said no. He just couldn't bring himself to tell her and finally in the end he just let her go.

What's your ridiculous break up story?

I read a few weeks ago that a lot of "girls" will break up with a guy if they don't like his taste in music.

A friend of mine was dating a guy who was pretty controlling, but she wasn't the type of girl to put up with it for long. One day she showed up at my house fuming! She announced that the guy had thrown a temper tantrum at Sephora (it's a make up shop) because she had chosen to put on bright pink eye shadow. The color was bright, but she didn't put much on. It really did look nice on her. Anyway, he said loudly in the packed store, "Well, aren't you going to take that off?!" She replied that she wasn't and he stormed off. When she caught up to him they got into the car and she insisted that she be taken to my house. While she was telling me this story he called and left a screaming voice mail. He said, "If you don't call me back in 10 minutes, we're over!" So she and I talked it out... and she didn't call him back. However, he called about 10 minutes later and he "officially" broke up with her. About 8 hours later he shows up at my house (she was still there) in tears because he had broken up with the love of his life. She refused to get back together with him. I talked to him out in my driveway for about an hour, and I was really honest with him. I told him he was controlling and manipulative, and that he was stupid for breaking up with a girl over eye shadow! Geez, some people's kids, ya know?

My first "serious" boyfriend (how serious can it really be when you're 14 years old?) broke up with me after about a year because I'm not blonde. He said he couldn't see himself being with a brunette in wedding photos, so he might as well break it off with me before anyone got "too attached".

Er, okey dokey, dude.

This girl in high school broke up with me because she said she liked my best friend (and he liked her too apparently). That's probably why til this day I hate being a third wheel with a passion.

I actually had an ex-gf break up with me because I wasn't into her "scene". Her "scene" btw was smoking pot like it was going out of style. When I met her I knew she smoked, but after a few months,it was obvious she was over the top & it became all she talked about...when she could get high next,etc...When I started to lose interest,it was obvious..even to a pot-head like her. lol So she dumped me. The people we date when we are teens. UGH!

Eheh...yeah, I can relate everybody. Sorry things went down that way.

I've got a couple, but I'll limit it to two instances.

2-3 of the girls I dated broke up with me once other people found out we were dating. =/

1 girl who I later found out was cheating on me, met me outside her house one day, and broke up with me using this line:

"No offense or anything, but I just found someone who looks better..."

I forgot to add to my post, that not only was I dumped by a pot head, but her family owned a bunch of land & on that land were deer. They got wind of her dumping me,and every time I saw them, they would stare at me...judging me. You know how they do that some times.
(gaffawwwwwwwwwwwwwww)
sorry MissCris..I was missing the judgmental deer.:p:D

No worries, I totally understand. Sometimes I go for days on end without a single deer staring at me and judging me. It's just one of those things you miss.

My ex husband wanted a divorce because I told he needed to get a job and I wasn't doing his laundry anymore.

....wow...don't think this one can be topped.

My first girlfriend broke up with me for a guy online...although I got the last laugh when she wasn't with him six months later because it took her that long to find out it was actually a girl.

I broke up with a guy, because he was talking about asking my parents for their permission to marry me after the first couple hours of our first date....I was 16 and my cousins set me up with him, because I finally gave in to the pressure and said flippantly "sure if you can find a guy who wants to date me, i'll go out with him"... so it was my first date ever and it kind of freaked me out....

Ok yeah this is just really horrible. I'm sorry someone treated you that way.
If God used flying, people crushing anvils this would warrant an anvil in my book.

When someone uses one of these lines on you a shower of confetti should rain down and a little flag should pop out of their head that says, "CONGRATS! YOU JUST DODGED STUPID!"

Hey, it's all good Crimson. I don't now, nor have I ever, felt or meant any ill will toward them. I'm still single now, and may not truly know what love is...but for what I did know at the time...I gave all I had. If you really loved them, you would never want harm or wish negative things to come to them. At least, that's what I think.

That's silly. I won't even date you if i dislike your music that much. (actually that's true. ;)) Country or mainstream pop and you are out of the running. =P

Worst breakup for me? My fiance not even telling me. She just stopped talking to me one day, stopped taking my calls and had her family lie about her whereabouts. When i did get a hold of her 2 weeks later she acted happy to hear from me and apologized for being so 'busy'. She said she was long distance on the other line and asked if i'd wait while she said bye to them. She hung up and wouldn't answer the phone again. Last time we ever spoke.
