By the way, I'd like to correct one thing... the part about diabetes galloping through my family was not in fact facetious. That part is true. I just hope I don't get it. Unfortunately I really like chocolate, and I have been gaining weight lately... fortunately the chocolate I like is very dark chocolate, like 85% cocoa, so that's not TOO bad I guess.

It's sort of easy to avoid diabetes, type 2 that is. However, it's possible that your pancreas can just up and stop working whenever it pleases. The amount of sweets you eat won't lead to diabetes. Not directly. Sugar only leads to diabetes when someone gains weight, becomes insulin resistant, the A1C is elevated, etc.

I'll be your temporary physician. Lose weight, cut carbs, eat more green veggies, and exercise. Blah, blah, blah. Your chocolate intake is most likely fine.

Good I sure am glad cause I don't think I could give up my chocolate I like really dark chocolate anyway which is supposed to be good for you and it gives you energy to exercise and exercise has to be good for you right and I think it does something to suppress appetite at least I hear caffeine is what is in a lot of diet pills so that's another way dark chocolate is good for me WOOHOO! :D :D

Is it really that soon? I remember when you first posted about meeting and it seemed so long...wow how time flies!

On an unrelated note, I bathed my cats today. It was traumatic for everyone involved. They still love me, though, and that's what's important.

Don't give cats a bath... felines are self-cleaning.

Yes, it is! Arlene and I made it official back in June (on the 19th). We're very eager. Not long to go now. :)

Rachel, you have patience of a saint. Make sure that those cats of yours give you some loving. God knows you sacrifice for them. I'm continuing to pray for you. God bless you, my dear sister.

A bit random, but I found this and thought that it was really cool... Yeah, it doesn't take much for me to be amused.

They had gotten fleas and I wanted to make sure they and all their dirt and eggs and whatnot was washed out before I put the flea meds on them. I doubt I'll ever bathe them again unless they get into something nasty, for the sake of my own sanity.

Thank you Tintin. Sometimes I am very very patient and other times...I have none at all. :)

Fleas are the worst...my kitten had gotten them real bad and I bathed him 5 different times. Ouch. Then we put a different flea medicine on him and it worked out great. Haven't seen a flea since.

Oh... fleas are different. And you can't use the same thing that is effective on dogs, because permethrin will kill a cat. I can see giving a cat a bath then.

You are very brave. Or you have welder's gloves. Or both.

Someone once told me that if you get rid of the cat you get rid of the fleas. It's worth a try. But apparently it wouldn't work on dogs. Dogs are too good to be thrown out.
