I started a thread in the Family Forum...about how depressing the Family Forum is.

I kinda think it will get ignored, or else have a handful of responses that basically say "no idea how to change it".

I'm not really ok with that, but I also don't know myself how to change it or even sort of improve it. People love to dispense advice, and they love reading about other people's hardships, so here we have a ready-made place for people to get their fix...*sigh*

They should call it the Family Problems Forum.

Are there actual regulars in there, or do people just go in to ask questions? I think that makes a difference.

Well...sort of? I mean, there are people who respond to threads in there regularly, but I think the overall tone of that forum deters people from becoming regulars like we have here, or in the Bible forum.

Can any forum be worse than the Bible forum?

Hey, I dropped in there ONLY because I saw that it was your post. Usually I stay within the boundaries of my asylum..

Anyways, I'm off for the night. I'm glad I could post a thought-provoking thread. And I'm thankful to each person who stated their views. :)

It's been a good day (and it isn't even over yet!).

I got half the yard raked, and in the process, discovered a bunch of tiny little toads living under one of the rocks I used to make a path last summer. There's all these crazy mushrooms underneath it, pushing it up, and I tripped over it. It wasn't like that just a few days ago, so I thought I'd check it out. And ta-da! Mushrooms and toads. So I set the rock back down carefully, and then...

My son ran through and jumped on it, so maybe some toads didn't survive.

Anyway...oh right, good day, yeah. It's been productive :D

It's not even 4:00pm and I'm at home. I don't even...

It's true, I could have gone back to my campus and gotten some things done. I will probably still write a letter to parents tonight and also do the grades from last night's concert. But going back to campus? I mean, I just spent the day building a Lego robot, and then programming it, instead of dealing with middle schoolers. Why ruin a delightfully non-productive productive day?

Grades and a letter. Hmm.

Read CC first. And maybe some LoL. Maybe a nap! (Still too sore to lift today. Tomorrow!)

I awoke today to something to which I am unaccustomed. I was cold. That hasn't happened in a long time.

Winter is a-coming! :D
You better have grown your winter coat already, I hear it's gonna be a chilly one! (Here at least)

A programable Lego robot- like not on a computer? Pics please?

Ugh. I said I would go to this small concert thingy tonight. I am just so bad at this stuff. I back out last minute all the time because of social awkwardness of being there with people I sort of know. The music doesn't entirely interest me either. *sigh* This is why I am single.

Ah, I didn't take pictures. At the end of the training, we disassembled ("Disassemble? NO DISASSEMBLE!!!") the bots and gave them back.

However, as my homeroom students will be working with these kits in upcoming weeks (hence the training), I'll have opportunities to get some media for ya.

Our charter school has a robotics team. I don't think their competitions got this elaborate, but the concept is fascinating.

Went to try on new specks. I stood there complexed on my choices. Go with what's in style? Hm this thicker frame looks good on me... But is it me? Perhaps, I should be anti-cultural. Go against the norm and not buy the thick one, instead the thinnest one. Yeah that will show them!

*leaves store without purchase* Hmm but those thicker frames did look good... Ugh.
