Pleaaaaaaaaaaaaaaase.

Is it okay if it's animated? In that case, 5cm per Second, The Girl Who Leapt Through Time, and many others I could suggest.

If not, Like dogs? Hachi, Marley and Me, or where the Red Fern Grows.

I can suggest others... What's your preference?

I liked "The Way" with Martin Sheen. It's sad, but in a happy kinda way.

Hmmmm...I wonder.

The Bible says for us to be equally yoked. However, I wonder if there have been situations where Christians that have been told by God to pray for a non-Christian because God perhaps wants them to marry that person? But if the non-Christian doesn't end up saved they just move on? If I were them I would be heartbroken but I would move on...maybe continue to pray for that person's salvation regardless, but realize that that person isn't it? I think God can and does say to some people, "I want you to marry this person." Not exactly because they're that person's soul mate...but God knows you best and knows who would compliment you best, and when you listen to Him and follow the path He has planned for you, so I don't find it impossible for Him to tell someone, "This person would be best suited for you as a spouse."

I dunno. I'm really tired. I probably don't know what I'm thinking. But maybe that would be an interesting question. Is it wrong to pray for someone's salvation because of physical attraction? If so, why? What would be a better way to go about that? And if it's not wrong, why? I think I'd actually like to see what some people's thoughts are on this, and bonus points on if you can find some kind of Scripture that can apply.

(I know. My brain is really random. I'm glad this is a judgment free zone for late-night thoughts. lol)

A friend of my friend was shown by God that her granddaughter would marry a guy who was a new Christian. Now, this lady is someone who interacts with God like a friend, so she merely followed His voice and kept praying for His will to be done. Eventually, it happened and now they are a happily married couple. We have to accept that God's ways are beyond our imaginations and we cannot comprehend the way He works. We believe that we must not be unequally yoked because it keeps us from stumbling in our faith. But when God chooses to go against that, who are we to stop Him?

I am sorry if my answer helps little, but that was all I had to offer on this topic. This is a good question, though. :)

One of my friends had that experience Lil. She met this man at college who she really quite liked, but she knew he wasn't a believer. She enjoyed their conversations but didn't encourage him because he wasn't a Christian... but started praying for him. And when she heard from God? God told her NOT to witness to this man (he'd grown up with a pastor for a dad, and was really turned off by that and further turned off by his wartime service - she found out later, he was ALL prepared to refute her beliefs and when she never brought up Jesus he was shocked as he knew she was a Christian).

One night he asked her out and she said she couldn't because she had plans. He asked to go along... and it was a Bible study where he was saved. Fast forward nearly 40 years (what? I have older friends), and they are happily married with two kids and 4 grandkids.

But I don't think it's ever wrong to pray for someone's salvation. Just let God work in their lives. :)

God desires that all sinners be saved (1 Timothy 2:4; 2 Peter 3:9; Ezekiel 18:23; Matthew 23:37

Plague Dogs. Now that's a terribly sad movie. It's along the lines of Watership Down, but even more intense. The movie may have been censored in countries other than Australia.

My thoughts:

1. When hearing from God don't add to what he said or assume you know his reasons for what he tells you to do. If you start praying for Mr. Hottie don't assume that is because God wants him to get saved and marry you.

2. I am very pro praying for people you are attracted to, especially if you find your mind thinking about them anyway. Best way I can think of to make sure that God is kept in his proper place. But when you pray for them, don't be directive in your prayers (i.e. make him love me, show him what a good match I'd be for him, etc.) keep them focused on asking God to do his will and have his way in that person's life (and your own).

3. Especially where matters of the heart are involved, be a bit skeptical about receiving specific direction from God. It's all too easy for even the best of us to confuse a deep desire in our hearts for something good with this is what God must desire because its a good thing.

4. If God is indeed telling you the what, be sure to ask him about the how as well. Don't go off and try to do it on your own just because you know what God said the result should be.

You should write a "Dummies guide to hearing from God in matters of the heart".

Just saying... :p
