Interesting, but too much work for me. ;)
All art is work. The motivation, the general motivation that is, comes from a love to create. To use concepts and ideas in different ways to communicate different ideas, concepts, emotions. It is the same for animations or general artwork as it is for music in this basic respect. But these are things I absolutely LOVE to do. So the work is welcome, and much of the time I do it for free, because I love it.

I feel like this about my cooking. It's my art form

I HAVE A DAY OFF!!!

I work six days a week (and Sunday is not a day off) so I finally convinced she-who-makes-the-schedules at work to give me one day a month off.

I'm going to fill the water jugs at the spring, make a good 21 or so loaves of sourdough bread, get a haircut, make a pot of chili, work on a soundtrack for a song I want to sing in about a week and a half... and maybe play a video game or something. Or maybe just sit outside and talk to my dog while th bread is rising the second time.

No no no, I work six days a week as I said. Sunday is technically a day off but that's the day I type the bulletin, drive the church bus four times, sing on stage, provide tech support, clear copier jams... It's not really a day off.

Today I'm going to DO STUFF. Because I haven't been, the last couple days. Though, that's not even true, because even when I don't think I'm doing anything, I'm still taking care of/playing with/teaching kids, and cooking, and cleaning. So I guess I mean, today I'm going to do Different Stuff.

But there are so many possibilities!
Paint the living room side of the oddly short breakfast bar?
Sweep/vacuum the concrete and cinder block basement and sort out the emergency supplies stored down there?
Paint something new to replace the two paintings my mom took to give to my aunt?
FIVE HUNDRED LOADS OF LAUNDRY?

...I'll probably just go outside and splash through puddles.

Ooooh... ok... but sunday is always a day we end up being even more busy than on work days... :) church does take up a lot of our time... it is tiring, but rewarding!! :)

But again, I only work 5 days a week... so my saturdays are usually totally off!! :D

Dude! It's important to have some down-time. You need down-time. Why don't you have down-time? Please get some down-time. There's no excuse for people to run you ragged like that, even if you are serving God's kingdom. Especially if you're serving God's kingdom.

Well, I got what I wanted, but now I feel manipulative. There's just no winning with me, is there?
Okay, I guess there is. If I don't tell anyone what I want, and I get it anyway; or if I do tell someone, but only once.

There's a fine line between being manipulative and being assertive. :)
