I would just like to say that time heals everything...from the most trivial of things to those only you and the Lord know about. Today I was thinking about the things, people, and opportunities I wanted when I was younger and now I know that I'm okay and those things don't matter like I thought they did.

Time heals everything but it works even faster when you depend on Jesus. If you're going through something right now, know that it is only temporary.

For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. - 2 Corinthians 4:17
Yes but I still want to someday own an original stormtrooper helmet..

Haha, I knew you would know. Congratulations. We are officially friends :D

Are you going to be one of those people who dress up?

I will not. But....I'll probably get a group of people to go to the opening :D
:D cool! I wouldn't fit in a stormtrooper outfit unfortunately, but even if I could I'm not brave enough to go dressed up lol. Even the opening night crowd would scare me :/ I like to wait until all the excitement dies down and then I go see it in a not so crowded theater in the middle of a weekday lol.. But if I had someone to go with, I wouldn't mind going on opening night.

I think it's putting our trust in him is a challenge. I have come to the realization that he does know best. I have realized that after many times of arguing with what God tells me to. I argued with him over giving a good friend of mine my phone number. I still don't understand why God wanted me to, but I will find out when the time is right. We are so used to having control over ourselves and our reaction to situations that we forget or just don't understand to trust him for he gave us life. I will be praying for you Tiger. I think whether people will admit it or not we all struggle with this at some point in time.

You let the legs of reason carry you as far as they can, and then you leap. It's difficult to place trust in anyone/anything these days. Here if you need to talk.

There are definitely different degrees of trust and it's something we're constantly growing in, and realizing our lack of. Because it is so much easier to trust myself and my ability than to just let God handle it.

For most of my life, I've been considered by many people to be too trusting of others. But that all changed (due to a number of different circumstances) these past few years (but especially this year). Now I trust few people and I don't trust my God. This isn't how it's meant to be. The step of faith thing is tricky for me, because I've been burnt so many times. Thanks for the PM.

True. And yet, I don't trust myself or my abilities. But I must trust them more than God at the moment. That's scary.

Maybe you don't trust what's going to happen next. There's a certain fallibility with Christian personal freedom (and I shoot right for the heart of your "horrifying realization" since it's a human hallmark of freedom itself). This mistake prone life of ours exposes us to not only the consequence of our own decisions but the decisions of others. Maybe most detrimentally to the decisions of others.

So, what that means is that our very salvation - that Grace given us by God comes with a bit of a price tag; our unconditional surrender to Him in a very conditional world. Our surrender does not make the world any less unpredictable and I don't really believe this world is meant to be some kind of supreme test. The surrender is our faith. The Salvation is His gift.

So no. I don't think it's possible to believe on Christ and not trust God because the surrender - the faith - is a component of Omnipotent Love. I do,however, think it's possible to not trust what tomorrow has in store and even how you might react to it.

The Lord Jesus Christ IS God.
He who has the Son has the Father also.
Whoever denies the Son, the same has not the Father.
Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwells in him, and he in God.
And this is the record, that GOD, (read that again, brother tin), GOD has given to us eternal life, and this life is in His Son.
For GOD so loved the world...(for God so loved tintin)...that HE GAVE...His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
Whosoever transgresses, and abides not in the doctrine of Christ, has not God. He that abides in the doctrine of Christ, he has both the Father and the Son.
'Grace be with you, mercy, and peace, from God the Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of the Father, in truth and love.
Tintin, read 1stJohn and 2ndJohn. And here's Jude24-25......
Now unto Him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy,
To the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen.
God our Saviour, tintin....God our wonderful Saviour. Peace, brother.:)

Oh. Okay. I'm not sure what to do. Am I even a Christian then? I feel so tortured. People are like: give/surrender your dreams to God and I'm like, I don't even really have any dreams, beyond very generalised ideas: having a teaching job, getting married and having a family to raise in God. So I'm a ta loss what to do.

Read my post. God sent His Son to die for you. You know what to do. Attitude of gratitude. He will never leave you, do you want to leave Him? I know you don't. Did He save you? If yes, rejoice. If no, why not? If you're not sure, pm me or read my post again.
