Because God is the One who brought everything into existence. We wouldn't draw even one breath without God allowing it. Without the God of the Bible, we would have no foundation to even reason how someone can exist if they were not created. Therefore, by the very fact that we can reason anything (arguing for or even against God), the God of the Bible must exist. It's a bit more complicated. I can find a couple articles about Reason and Logic and God, if you'd like.
But that doesn't explain how God can exist without being created. That's like telling someone that the sky is limitless when in fact it ends about 60 miles up. That's where the last air molecules are. It seems limitless and nowhere on earth can you see where it ends but like everything else it does have a beginning and an end. Even time begins when God created the universe and ends at a certain time as mentioned in scripture..

...and I FOUND THAT THREAD! It does exist after all...

True. I really didn't answer your question. Sorry about that. Some questions are unanswerable and I think we have to rest in the knowledge that while God reveals much about Himself in His Word, He leaves plenty mysteries for us to wrestle with (or rather accept on faith). I'll have check out the thread. Cheers, brother. :)

Its ok, turns out you were RIGHT. There's a long post near the end of that thread from the OP that has all the scripture and explanation basically saying what you said.. that God always existed and how we can't possibly understand it from our point of view.

3:30 in the morning and I'm up for the day. I was sleeping so good...and then I was dreaming that we bought a new house...and that the kids kept yelling at night because something was taking the light bulb out of a lamp. So I'd go running in, and sure enough, there's a lightbulb floating up near the ceiling. The first couple times, it just landed gently on the floor. But the last time, I ran in because both kids were screaming and up by the ceiling was a flashing lightbulb that stopped as soon as I walked in...and then there was a ghost of a young girl in an old fashioned baseball uniform...she took hold of the lightbulb and I instinctively made my kids get behind me...the ghost started pitching light bulbs at my face like they were baseballs, and I was catching them but there were more every half a second and I was yelling for my husband but I couldn't get enough sound out and my kids were crying. I finally woke up because I was actually trying to yell, I heard myself and startled myself awake. I tried just rolling over so I could go back to sleep but every time I close my eyes I see that ghost. It's frustrating, it's obviously not real and it was kind of a silly thing to dream...but here I am, too scared to go back to sleep and too tired to be up already.

That's like better than any youtube video I've ever seen! :) I know how scary dreams can be though. I had a similar dream once except it was large knives instead of baseballs and I woke up trying to scream too.

Cheers, brother. I should've mentioned this too, but someone already did on the other thread:

Note that the Bible says, “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth” (Genesis 1:1).
Here God created time itself. Only One who is outside of time, that is, timeless, or eternal, could do this.

We Must be linked with weird dreams or something, cause I had one too...only... I cant really remember mine in enough detail, but I do remember I was yelling, (or at least trying to yell) and I started to float up... like i was laying in bed and then i was picked up... horizontally... and I couldn't move... then i realized i was being taken back down, and I woke up (in my dream) and I was freaking out cause It was daylight and I knew I was late for work, I got up out of my bed... walked straight through the house I lived in when I was 14-15 years old.... my parents were in their room... I walked back towards my room, and stopped in my brothers room and he was JUST waking up. I told him he was late for work and so was I... then he gets his phone to call his boss, meanwhile I have my phone in my hand.... but I all the sudden cant figure out how to work my phone. I dont recall what happened after that, but I know the reason being why im so exhausted now... I was active in my sleep... and I don't normally have dreams like that.

But currently, I am having coffee watching the news, and praying that we dont get any grass fires anytime soon... It's very windy and very dry... sigh... the joys of living in Oklahoma.....

Ooooo...kay, it seems I played way too many RPGs when I was young. Last night I dreamed about a planet covered with vegetation, where mankind struggled to survive. My dream provided a whole backstory too, about how it used to be a barren planet but humans terraformed it to be able to grow plants. But their terraforming system had a catastrophic breakdown and the planet is now out of control. And of course a few friends set out to save the planet and humanity.

Actually it could probably be a pretty good premise for a game...

That's about the size of it, yes. We are accustomed to things having a beginning, but that is a function of time. When the Bible talks about time being no more, it is literal. A God who exists outside of time does not have to have a beginning in order to exist.

I fired a RPG when I was an active member of the armed forces. Threw a hang grenade too and fired countless rounds from my M16. It was sort of like a live video game but with more serious meaning and repercussions.

Yes, more repercussions and more concussions and (while healing) more cushions. :p

God bless you too, sir for your humble service to the Lord. Really, that's what it's all about.
Thanks, but nothing compares to what those who fought gave for their country. (even if it was halfway across the globe) Thank you.

Sometimes I like to listen to the crazy pagan theorists and do the opposite.
You can learn a lot through filtering though myths and false information.
Discernment is an amazing gift.
