I have a stupid cricket that somehow snuck into the house and now lives somewhere under the couch.

For the life of me, I can't seem to catch it, and it chirps away incessantly at all hours of the night.

NOTHING will make a person crankier than being woken up at 2AM by the thunderously loud chirping of a hormone-laden, overzealous cricket who's in search of a booty call.

Give it a rest already and just go take a nap, you stupid cricket (and even better yet, a dirt nap--punch your ticket and get out!)

GRR.

As if I wasn't sleep-deprived enough already (as can be evidenced in many of my more sporadic posts, like this one. :D)

O crickets, not good, bad news. Why don't you just curl up on the couch, bug spray at the ready and launch all whatever is in that can in the general direction of the cricket sound?;).

Or you could take this opportunity to learn how to make cricket sounds. Make sure your mouth has some saliva and whistle in short bursts, only breathing IN. It's a really good ability to have, especially when no one has anything to say.

Yeah... I'm thinking imitating a cricket might get you shot in some places. You might want to put a hold on that production, impresario.

Didn't understand how those hitting and running men were hiding under Seoulsearch coach.. Then I was thinking it was the team's coach. And I still didn't understand why they were in the house after midnight. No wonder Seoulsearch can't sleep with so many men in her house. And under the coach...?

Well I got back home from Houston on Monday night. It went really well. It was tiring because we cleaned a church that was full of broken glass and branches. Then we cooked meals and served them in a community center. After that we would walk around praying for people if they wanted it. I got to meet some cool people.

When we were cleaning the church, we found a mother cat with 5 kittens! I think 2 of them weren't even hers because they looked older than the other three. I'm thinking she adopted them. Members from my church adopted all 6 cats including the momma. That was especially exciting. My friend adopted one of the black ones and he named him Eclipse. :D

It was a spur of the moment thing for me to go. But I'm glad I did. I received clarification on some troubles I was going through. It's fascinating that when you help people through their troubles, that also helps you through your own.

Me aside though, they still need a lot of help. Try to donate or go for yourself if you can. Some of these people have lost everything they own including some loved ones. The ones I saw at the center sleep with complete strangers on the floor or in beds brought in by others.

For a moment I took a break from picking up glass at the church. A 12 year old girl came up to me and we talked for a while. She told me she didn't know how to solve operations with fractions because I told her I was a tutor. So in the little time I had I was able to give her a short tutoring session. I even got her number and email to keep in touch in case she ever needs help.

Overall it was an unforgettable experience. I'm glad I stayed on CC too. I think the enemy attacks me and wants to isolate me sometimes. Not gonna happen!

Edit: I wanted to add that if you go or want to donate stuff, they need a lot of diapers, toiletries and basic hygiene products. Underclothes are also needed.

Rockport is also gong to need lots of help.

If you go to help with demolition, especially drywall, bring your own tools and safety equipment.

Also Molly, I'm sorry I didn't see you were coming to Houston in time. I would have tried to connect with you if I had.
