The President is having a State Of The Union address, I might watch, I don't know. I don't hate Obama, I didn't vote for him, but I see a lot of hating from others about him on Facebook. Like it was when George W Bush was president. It's annoying, OK we get it you don't like him.

I remember election time some people were brutal. Someone hacked my Facebook account and put this thing that pointed towards my name and said, "This person is voting for Obama." I didn't see it. A friend piped up and asked if I was really voting for him. I said, "No" then she told me about that. What does it matter who I vote for? Is it really that big of deal to someone? I liked Mitt Romney and I wanted him to win, and I did mention when Obama won that I felt sick to my stomach, but you know when you look at the big scheme of things, as long as he doesn't blow us up, I'm OK.

I'm trying to work on my posture and walk more. I slump too much and I feel like when I walk I just clomp around. I need to sit up straight and walk gracefully, shoulders down and back, confident.

Though, when it's icy or snowy, I look less confident (I'm afraid of falling) and I shuffle along more like a timid penguin. Maybe I'll even work on that and be a confident penguin. ;)

Here's a story for you all since fen had nothing to say exciting except LYING about climbing Mt. Everest, even though ("it's taco Tuesday and the kids love it") I always get SIX tacos from Jack in the Box, and ,it used to be 2 super tacos growing up ,always with an ice water while my friend had a burger, fries and a soft drink. It was sad, too, because my two tacos and ice water came out to more than his burger and fries AND drink. He got a lot more for his money but I just loved my Super Tacos from Jack . Still do, but, yeah.

One day there was a man who was blind and he was over at a buddy of his house, we can guess his buddy picked him up because he's blind, right, and, drove him over to his house. Anyway, the two were sitting around the house and doing nothing, well, except it was taco Tuesday and though no kids for this buddy of this blind fellow's, they were having tacos and the blind man's buddy was fixing these tacos, and the meat was sizzling in the McCormick seasoning and the meet was layed to rest (and drain the grease) on a paper towel and the lettuce was being chopped and the tomato--OK, you get the picture. All the while this buddy of the blind man did the slicing and dicing the blind man was wallowing in self-pity.....

"I am so worthless. I am blind, I can't do anything. I am just a piece of meat on this Earth that God's using to have the pigeons slowly pluck the flesh away from me."

Anyway, did he say those exact words? No. But, yeah along those lines and the buddy heard this shouted from the living room by his buddy and stopped in his tracks what he was doing and went into the living room and he took a ball and he said,

'What are you thinking? God has made you like you are for a blessing to His plans and to you too, if you would only see it. You need to listen to what God is telling you to do in life? Job complained and God spoke to Him. So keep complaining, but, I warn you, when God, finally, speaks, like he did to Job, 'Who is this that darkens my counsel,' God speaks out to Job wallowing in self-pity from chapter 3 to chapter 38, YOU Listen."

The blind buddy replied, "Yeah, whatever."

The buddy of the blind man then said, "Hey. Let's play catch. I'll go get the football."

As the blind man was saying, "You are so mean, and, dumb. I can't play catch. I can't see!!!!!!!"

Then, the blind man felt a sharp pain come over all of his face, for the buddy threw the football while he was talking right at him.

"WHAT!!! You idiot !! Joe," said the blind man, "What did you just do that for. I can't catch. I can't see!"

The buddy said, "OK, we're going to play catch now. I want you to have faith. Here comes the ball. Get ready on three, on the count of three, I'm going to throw the football to you. Get your hands out, 1,2,3........................

"I caught it."

That blind man went on to do many things after that, no longer wallowing in self-pity, in his blindness, including going on to be the first blind man in the world to climb to the TOP of Mount Everest. :)

Well folks my children are on winter vacation, no school again tomorrow. Many of the kids that attend city schools have to walk, some pretty far, so they are doing the right thing. Oh well. We might just take a trip to the library tomorrow!

When someone tells me that they've been babysitting I always respond with "I'm sorry."

The more I think about it, the more I do not like it. But it's not like I can control a person from living a life of dysfunction.

one of the things my mother (big time pageant girl) hounded me about was my posture. growing up, she would say, "do you want to look like a lady or a sack of potatoes??? a lady walks with carriage and poise!!!"

sometimes i can still hear that in my ear. *sitting up straight* : )

It feels so funny to do a couple miles on the treadmill and then when I get back onto "normal" ground and walk around, it feels like I'm gliding. It's kinda fun, but it also feels so strange.

Haven't done one of these in a while. You know you've missed it.

MULTI-REPLY!!!

Hurray going for my flu shot. Hope I don't get the flu from it. I've been so opposed to getting it, but the whole H1N1 thing maybe I should.
I have taken a flu shot dutifully for the past six years, and have not gotten the flu since, either from the shot or from other infectors. In contrast, in the past ten years, in the four years that I DIDN'T get the shot, I got the flu twice. So, based on general data, I seem to have a 50% rate of acquiring influenza without the shot, and a 0% with the shot. Well worth it.

And Angie? How long does an allergic reaction typically last? Versus how long flu season lasts? I'm just sayin', yo.

I'm around. I just don't post much any more. :)
I are so privileged. Although you even vanished from our personal chat for a while, too. I would have even endured another Grey's Anatomy diatribe to read your dulcet voice again.

I disagree, on two points.

1) Shamrock shakes are NOT the best. But they ARE undeniably yummy. Because mint shakes are awesome. Steak'n'Shake does a better mint shake, honestly.

2) Their inherently positive feature is not in their colour (which would be a truly cruel joke amongst the colour-blind population), but their flavour. Yummy, minty flavour.

Also, Jim Gaffigan. "McDonald's has given us SO MUCH. We wouldn't know when breakfast ends if there was no McDonald's...I'd be eating eggs at 5pm, like a MORON. Thank you, McDonald's. How are we supposed to know St. Patrick's Day is coming without the Shamrock Shake? Thank you, McDonald's."

I tell you, those Jack in the Box tacos are made with pure crack. I live on Mexico's doorstep, and I have access to some of the most wonderful street tacos the world has to offer (and on this side of the border, minimal fear of contamination)...barbacoa, tripas, asada, carnitas...oh, the carnitas...But when the chips are down and I'm just plain hungry...six Jack in the Box tacos, complete with sliced American cheese. I'll shotgun those suckers faster than a frat-boy with a 24-pack. And if you don't believe me, ask Gracie, who, until a few weeks ago, didn't even know that Jack sold tacos. One fateful Saturday morning, I slept in and woke ravenous, and I sent her photographic play-by-play of the frightening-yet-delicious destruction. A few hours later, I receive a photo of her hand holding her first Jack in the Box taco.

And now, for our dear Gracie...no visit to Longview is complete unless she gets her Jack in the Box tacos.

Mmmmm...potatoes. I must say, I love a good sack of potatoes. Especially when dressed the right way...with a German-style bacon vinegarette...yeah, baby.

But alas, like everything, carbs in moderation.

Wait a minute, we weren't even talking about potatoes, were we?

Hmmm, well now. I have never pumped egg directly into my bloodstream, so I would not be able to tell you. O_O

Actually, I do believe that it was MY photo of a Jack taco which caused YOU to get dressed, put your shoes on and drive 20 miles for tacos complete with progressive slide-show. Ah, the power of a picture of a taco. Hahaha... ^_^

(Although your frequent praise of said taco is what caused me to try them in the first place, so you still win.)

You know what, you're right! I remember it better now! I had been preaching to you about the Jack taco for awhile, and that morning, you finally went into Longview to get one...and I hadn't even gotten out of bed yet, I think. And you sent the picture of the taco to my phone, and suddenly I needed breakfast.

Sharp memory, doll. ^_^
