I thought it might be good to post scriptures in a thread so that people can come here and be spiritually fed whenever they feel so inclined.

I hope that it may also bring encouragement and healing to those who read it, so please post knowing that maybe your post might help a fellow Christian.

It doesn't have to be your favorite scripture, it can be any scripture. You don't have to post the version, but please make sure that the scripture is at least accurate (please no paraphrasing). Use Google if you need to.

God bless.

Please Note: Replies are allowed, but I just ask that there be no theological statements or criticisms made here. Thank you.

I'll start with the first scripture:

"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest." - (Matthew 11:28)

"Now therefore," says the Lord, "Turn to Me with all your heart,With fasting, with weeping, and with mourning."
So rend your heart, and not your garments; Return to the Lord your God,For He is gracious and merciful,Slow to anger, and of great kindness; And He relents from doing harm. JOEL 2:12-13

[SUP]46 [/SUP]“Why do you call me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ and do not do what I say? [SUP]47 [/SUP]As for everyone who comes to me and hears my words and puts them into practice, I will show you what they are like. [SUP]48 [/SUP]They are like a man building a house, who dug down deep and laid the foundation on rock. When a flood came, the torrent struck that house but could not shake it, because it was well built. [SUP]49 [/SUP]But the one who hears my words and does not put them into practice is like a man who built a house on the ground without a foundation. The moment the torrent struck that house, it collapsed and its destruction was complete.” Luke 6:46-49

Zero- I really like this thread :)

Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted within me? hope in God: for I shall yet praise him, who is the health of my countenance, and my God. - (Psalm 43:5 KJV)

Why am I discouraged? Why is my heart so sad? I will put my hope in God! I will praise him again--my Savior and my God! - (Psalm 43:5 NLT)

1 Samuel 16:7
But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not consider his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him. The Lord does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.”

Jeremiah 5:31
The prophets prophesy lies, the priests rule by their own authority, and my people love it this way. But what will you do in the end?

17 Jesus said to his disciples: “Things that cause people to stumble are bound to come, but woe to anyone through whom they come. [SUP]2 [/SUP]It would be better for them to be thrown into the sea with a millstone tied around their neck than to cause one of these little ones to stumble. [SUP]3 [/SUP]So watch yourselves.

“If your brother or sister[SUP][a][/SUP] sins against you, rebuke them; and if they repent, forgive them. [SUP]4 [/SUP]Even if they sin against you seven times in a day and seven times come back to you saying ‘I repent,’ you must forgive them.”-Luke 17:1-4

2 Chronicles 5:13
The trumpeters and musicians joined in unison to give praise and thanks to the Lord. Accompanied by trumpets, cymbals and other instruments, the singers raised their voices in praise to the Lord and sang: “He is good; his love endures forever.” Then the temple of the Lord was filled with the cloud,

You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain, that whatever you ask the Father in My name He may give you. (John 15:16 NKJV)

Isaiah 12:1-2
New Living Translation (NLT)

1 In that day you will sing:
“I will praise you, O Lord!
You were angry with me, but not any more.
Now you comfort me.
2 See, God has come to save me.
I will trust in him and not be afraid.
The Lord God is my strength and my song;
he has given me victory.”
