Is there a ONE?

Is there a SIGN for God to show us who we are going to marry?

Is it the Duty of a Godly Man to find a Wife?

Are some things that other Christians believe about dating outrageous to you?

Should people have a Chaperone or Escort on a date for accountability?

Do you have any personal Rituals that you do like Fasting before relationships?

How much weight do Friends, Church members, Family and Co-workers have on the bearing of your relationships?

Do you keep a Diary about who what and when things happen in you relationships?

Is there a ONE?

I'm on the "no" side of the fence, but as they say the grass is always greener on the other side.

Is there a SIGN for God to show us who we are going to marry?

Possibly

Is it the Duty of a Godly Man to find a Wife?

No

Are some things that other Christians believe about dating outrageous to you?

Yes

Should people have a Chaperone or Escort on a date for accountability?

See above

Do you have any personal Rituals that you do like Fasting before relationships?

Nothing special.

How much weight do Friends, Church members, Family and Co-workers have on the bearing of your relationships?

Allot. They see how you change and can provide great insight.

Do you keep a Diary about who what and when things happen in you relationships?
Nope, I honestly don't see a reason for me.

Just my initial opinions:

Is there a SIGN for God to show us who we are going to marry?
no, but then my marriage went south, so what do I know.

Is it the Duty of a Godly Man to find a Wife?
No, but it is his duty to positively influence the lives of children, his or someone else's, as society currently is lacking in positive male role models.

Are some things that other Christians believe about dating outrageous to you?

Most Definitely.
Should people have a Chaperone or Escort on a date for accountability?
if by people, you mean my kids... Sure! Any boy that wants to date my daughter can double date with me and Brownie the Browning. >sigh< Ok, I won't be That bad. Well, I Probably won't be.
If by people you mean me? Nah, if I am in a situation where I need an external voice to be my conscience for me, then obviously I do not need to be in that situation. If I feel that way about dating, then I have no business dating and should probably stay home and pray holes in the knees of my jeans!

Do you have any personal Rituals that you do like Fasting before relationships?
Hmmm... that's a novel notion.
I'll admit that I have started praying that God prepare me for someone if it be His will and prepare them for me, but look at that still as something that may or may not happen.

How much weight do Friends, Church members, Family and Co-workers have on the bearing of your relationships?
If I was to want to get serious with someone I think I'd probably make them endure an onslaught of people that are important to me. That is something that would happen Later. Early on, I might keep it under my hat that I was seeing someone at all. Probably because I feel like I'd be teased a bit, and because I wouldn't want to start a reputation. My take on me dating and my kids - I think my kids have no business knowing about it unless I would be getting serious... the last thing they need is additional layers of abandonment issues. Their mom did enough of that to them.

Is there a ONE?

There is one true God. You can only marry one person in your lifetime (unless that person were to pass away). Other than those ones, I don't think there is this one specific person that God has picked out for you to marry.

Is there a SIGN for God to show us who we are going to marry?

Sure; it's in the Bible. A man should marry a Godly woman and vice-versa. As for miraculous signs or God "speaking" to you about it, in 99% of cases, no, there will be no sign. You get the discernment that God has gifted to you. That's more than enough if you use it correctly.

Is it the Duty of a Godly Man to find a Wife?

No.

Are some things that other Christians believe about dating outrageous to you?

Yep. On one side of the fence you have the people who call themselves Christian who live immorally. The Bible says not to associate with such people, so I don't even consider them Christians. Just wolves who happen to attend a church. On the other side, folks who believe you should have a chaperone on every date. This is possibly a little out of place in our culture. I don't think that you should have to hold your kid's hand through every step of growing up and make sure they don't sin. You wouldn't follow your 18 year old daughter to the gas station to make sure she doesn't steal, would you? You just have confidence that you've raised her correctly and that she has the power to flee from temptation on her own. I do still consider these people Christians though.

Should people have a Chaperone or Escort on a date for accountability?

Haha, I didn't even read this question before answering the last one.

Do you have any personal Rituals that you do like Fasting before relationships?

I would pray it in, ask God to take it away immediately if it's not His will. I'd ask Him to help us in holiness.

How much weight do Friends, Church members, Family and Co-workers have on the bearing of your relationships?

A lot. Only a foolish person would disregard his friends/family's opinion in relationships.

Do you keep a Diary about who what and when things happen in you relationships?

Yes. Well...a journal anyway.

To be honest i am neither looking for the one or really even wanting her, I have my Jesus and that's really all i need. If the one comes along great but i really just keep my eyes on Jesus and let him guide everything.

Is there a ONE?
I don't believe so, no. Obviously the man I marry will be my one and only for the rest of my life, but I don't believe in soul mates or anything like that. As I've said before, out of the millions of Christian men on the planet, I'm sure I'd be compatible for marriage with more than one of them. Also, what if I got married, they passed away, and I remarried, which one was really "the one"? Hopefully that makes some sense.

Is there a SIGN for God to show us who we are going to marry?
I don't think so, not in the sense of a "huge and miraculous" sign at least. If you're praying, reading your Bible, and just being in contact with God, I think that the Holy Spirit will give you a sense of whether the relationship is one to be pursued in that way or not.

Is it the Duty of a Godly Man to find a Wife?
Meaning, are Christian men required to marry? I say no. I think some Christian men can stay single and glorify God, and some can get married and glorify God. Now, if a godly man is wanting a wife, it is his duty to find a godly wife.

Are some things that other Christians believe about dating outrageous to you?
The only outrageous one I can think of is just dating around, with no purpose, "just for fun". Or couples who think they can do "everything but sex" and still be okay.

Should people have a Chaperone or Escort on a date for accountability?
I don't believe so, no. I don't have anything against couples who both agree that that would be best for their relationship and themselves that they should have a chaperone with them, but I certainly don't think it's required of every dating relationship.

Do you have any personal Rituals that you do like Fasting before relationships?
I've never been in a relationship, so for this one my answer would be "N/A". Whenever I do get to that point, I don't think it'd be a ritual, just more critical thinking and really considering what I'm about to do.

How much weight do Friends, Church members, Family and Co-workers have on the bearing of your relationships?
A LOT. A lot a lot. How a guy treats his friends, church family, family, and co-workers tells me a lot. Unless you're talking about what they think of the relationship, in which case I also think they bear a considerable amount of weight. If they all see problems that I am blind to, I'd hope I would listen and evaluate their observations.

Do you keep a Diary about who what and when things happen in you relationships?
I keep a journal and I write about all my relationships (friendships and family at this point in time).

You've never dated and you still know more about dating than 90% of people.

Is there a ONE?
> I don't believe so. I'm sure there will be many people in my life in my extended circle of friends that would be a good spouse for me. We have free will. I believe that God allows us to choose for ourselves who we marry, instead of "predestining" someone to be my wife.

Is there a SIGN for God to show us who we are going to marry?
> Possibly. Sometimes God will point us in certain directions, including who we ought/ought not marry. But not always.

Is it the Duty of a Godly Man to find a Wife?
> No. Goodness knows Paul never had a woman. We don't know about most of the apostles. Since Peter had a mother-in-law, it is safe to assume he was married.

Are some things that other Christians believe about dating outrageous to you?
> Definitely. I hear some of the little rhymes, rules, and nuggets of "wisdom" and am not surprised so many are clueless about how it's properly done. Or even do it the world's way.

Should people have a Chaperone or Escort on a date for accountability?
> Depends. If the two of them can control themselves and not stoop into immorality then I see no need for chaperoning. I'm unsettled by the idea of having a chaperone/escort but I guess some people need it.

Do you have any personal Rituals that you do like Fasting before relationships?
> I pray about it before entering in the relationship. And when I'm in it, I pray continually for it.

How much weight do Friends, Church members, Family and Co-workers have on the bearing of your relationships?
> None. I will take their advice but ultimately they must respect the fact it's my decision.

Do you keep a Diary about who what and when things happen in you relationships?
> No.
