I don't expect anyone to try and fill this out but, It is good to ask good questions that are not easy to answer. I think we cannot afford to skim, be shallow, or merely touch upon the deeper issues of what is going to make or break a relationship.

Even the way people dodge touchy questions can be a sign that there is something else going on.

For some questions there are no simple answers but getting the conversation started can be hard without a good spark.

Yikes! Maybe you should clarify at what point in our relationship should we ask these questions.

All you men on CC contemplating dating me, you better read through the list and prepare your written essay.

Drat!!! There went my hope of ensnaring myself a man on CC!!!!:p

Pfft, I don't like 50 questions or dates feeling like interviews but, there are questions that people simply fail to ask and they wind up being deal breakers.

I wanted to put this here so people could see and think about what to ask and how to ask it.

Not so that she can pull this out and beat a guy over the head with it. lol.

I know most of the answers to these with my BF.

@Chrissy, I suspect these are good questions to ask one at a time over many weeks or months, starting from the least heavy topics. There is no right or wrong point in a relationship for em cause everyone is different. They make good conversation topics too.

Good questions. I managed to find out the answers to a good majority of these questions long before my bf and I entered into an exclusive relationship. It was important to me to find out the answers to some of these before even considering this guy as potential marriage material. To top it off, I got all this information directly from him without even asking him questions. I'm just a sneaky conversationalist and also highly observant. Muahaha. >:]

I think it is critical to ask questions of the guy/gal you are seeing in order to get to know them. Speaking from experience, you want as much disclosure BEFORE marriage as you can get.

HOWEVER, a few of these questions are rather silly. For example, #4 "How pretty do you think Xxxx is?" I don't care if he thinks Jennifer Aniston is pretty. I am not going to ask him...if he tells me who he thinks is good looking, that is fine.

See when he said how pretty do you think XXX is I though he meant porn and I was like than an awkwardly worded question...your way of looking at it makes more sense.

if you google 81 questions You'll see that I cut and pasted this from another website.

If on a 1st or 2nd date someone sat down and asked me this, I would feel very awkward. And I suppose a lot of what I would say might be construed as a deal breaker or something. Context would be necessary :)

I don't know do you put it up for us when you're done? lol
Bahaha my husband has asked me this...and...I might've glared at him for a while until he agreed that he should put the seat down...

(he totally doesn't, and I MIGHT have fallen in a couple times...he says, "What kind of person doesn't look where they're sitting?"...then I have to glare some more...oh man, it'd be so much easier if men would just...get their own bathroom...haha)

some of those questions you can gather your own answers without ever asking them outloud:

how often do you lie?

how do you know their answer isn't a lie?

answers to questions I think people should get before getting married are:

1. do you believe in God? how often do you attend church? do you read your Bible? will you be willing to pray with me daily?

2. what are your views on marriage and commitment? is it life long? is it based upon the Bible?

3. what is your relationship with your family and friends?

4. how do you handle people you don't like? are you able to work in a group with a person you don't like on a project?

5. how do you handle fights and disagreements with ME? can you read nonverbal signals of when I'm mad? do you care enough to learn to communicate with me?

6. What are your feelings on kids? how would you want to raise them? homeschooling/public school? discipline? breast feeding, etc.

7. how do you plan to run your household? job? rules? division of labor? etc.

ok...........i wished i could sleep now lol.

i know there are more then one question but i put them in categories and sub questions. people will likely change them but you get the idea.
1. God 2. you and me relationship 3. family relationship questions 4. work/associates 5. fights 6. kids 7. daily routine stuff.

On a first date, I would want a woman to ask me only one question............. Paper or plastic? (which of course means "After we finish our MacDonald's Happy Meals, do you want to throw up in a paper bag or a plastic bag?").

Good times!!!
