How many of you at one point or another has found themselves in losing battle of trying to change something or someone to which they had little to no control over?

Can you recall?
- A time where you had to accept that changing something was beyond your control?
- A time where you needed courage to change something within your control?
- A time when you found yourself seeking the wisdom to know if you could change something or not?

Yes. A wise person realizes exactly that, for who among us is not thrust into such a life.
I am always SAD when i see only Half the prayer. Also while it is most often attributed to "Author Unknown" or "Anonymous" it was originally written by one Reinhold Niebuhr

I'm quoting this direct off Serenity Prayer - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

"The original, attributed to Niebuhr, is:
God, give me grace to accept with serenity
the things that cannot be changed,
Courage to change the things
which should be changed,
and the Wisdom to distinguish
the one from the other.
Living one day at a time,
Enjoying one moment at a time,
Accepting hardship as a pathway to peace,
Taking, as Jesus did,
This sinful world as it is,
Not as I would have it,
Trusting that You will make all things right,
If I surrender to Your will,
So that I may be reasonably happy in this life,
And supremely happy with You forever in the next.
Amen."

I think the full prayer is far more powerful, and at times when I cannot find the words to pray to my Lord, I find that this can be a great starting point. There have been days I prayed this prayer back to back for an hour before breaking into conversation with God about what I had been unable to find the words to say.

Be blessed.

Now that I know the full poem, the one often found on the back of the toilet-door reads like a Hallmark card.

Also, the movie "Serenity" is good but not as fun as the TV series.

This is one of my favorite prayers. I say it almost everyday.

I watched a few episodes of Firefly yesterday. :) I have a serious crush on Captain Malcolm.
