I want to know why it's so creepy that this person is posting this? Maybe he doesn't want to deal with baggage some women carry from having even 1 more partner. It's a pretty nice request. That is the most loving act people share in marriage isn't it? Why is it silly to want someone who didn't share that with others? Why creepy? I don't understand that at all.
It's not just focusing on sex, he just asked a question. With all the focus on sex in the world, sometimes it's hard to believe that there ARE virgins out there.
Sometimes I wonder if God will even give me anyone, but then I remember 1. focus on Him first 2. if not, maybe he'll help me find contentment in being alone.
Just my two cents, I kind of got a little riled up.
It tends to be a touche subject with people.

Thank you for posting this, I agree. And what I don't get it why some people on here are being so cruel in what they're saying.

It is rare enough to find people who have made such a valuable committment, it's disheartening to see others who don't feel the same making fun of such a decision.

Yeah, I got riled up too....

i dont think its creepy at all that he really wants to marry a virgin.... it is simply his prefrence that he be the first for his wife... be that for health reasons or he believes that gift is somthing special. i dont think its right for me to question his prefrence of purity....the only way i can see it turning bad is if he wouldnt accept a girl becaise she wasnt a virgin because she was raped

one more thing... i think if a man has enough comitment to his future wife (even if he hasnt met her) to save himself.... i think its fair enough for him to want the same comitment from his future bride

Actually it's for both. Because it is so special, and for health reasons.

I understand your feelings about wanting that same commitment from your future wife and having the special experience of being eachothers only lover but why is it also a health concern for you?

I assume that virgin or not you are planning on marrying a christian women? it may be an assumption on my part but I highly doubt any christian women would be so irresponsble as to contract an STD and then engage in sexual relations with another man not being sure they are healthy, especially if that man is thier new husband.

I know STD's are on the rise, in the UK at least and it is a valid concern in general but in your situation wanting a virgin to avoid that risk seems a little bit paranoid.

If I were sexually active and a christian woman I loved was uncomfortable with the thought of being with me because I posed a potential health risk I'd be offended, I could only assume they're thinking I might have had unprotected sex and be carrying an STD, I would be hurt if she thought so little of me.

I'm a virgin and my boyfriend is not, and i was a little curious at first but I love him and he's a christian so i won't judge him based on something he did in the past cause God forgives.

Anything's possible with God. But if God brought a woman into your life who wasn't a virgin, but a really strong Christian, and God told you, you are to marry her, would it really matter? All your/her sins are washed away, and you are made like new again.

About 1 in 4 of the population have an STD. So would think for a christian it would probrably be a little less. So the chances are not real high it's not like every christian girl is walking around with an STD. Guys can have STDs you know too. But if your main concern is to have a girl who is a virgin and with STD it sounds very shallow. I think heart for the lord and personality would be much more important than what a girl has or hasn't done in the sack. Remember God looks at the heart not the outward appearance of what sins they have done in the past. Remember King David my friend he had an affair and got the womans husband killed in the front line of battle. Now he was a man after God's heart as he repented and sought the Lord. Are we looking at people or potential life partner through earthly eyes or God's eyes?

Agree with eelhsa....disregard the mean remarks...some people may be a bit bitter with their own choices. God is Great and whatever He brings you will be great! I respect your decision and pray that God will greatly bless your committment! in whatever way he sees fit! and dont be nervous:)

I hope so. I sometimes wonder if I'll ever get a girl like that, or really even a girlfriend at this point....

Why is her being a virgin so important to you? I do not really buy the health reasoning because there isnt a majority of non-virgins having stds. If you think that most girls who are not virgins have stds then you are mistaken.

If you think that a virgin is a stronger christian because she is a virgin that is also a bit of a reach.

It would be wiser to look for a strong christian woman FIRST, and then be glad if she is also a virgin.

I know that is it written that if you delight in God's ways that He will give you the desires of your heart BUT one should also discern whether those desires will glorify God's goodness OR simply satisfy one's idealistic thinking. The latter would not be in line with the will of a loving Father who wants to mold His children into a perfect reflection of His son Jesus.

I used to be proud of my virginity but I have seen this as superficial and arrogant.

If you look in Jesus family tree, EVERY WOMAN, mentioned by name, was not a virgin when she married.

Tamar, Rahab, Ruth.

if that is what you want then it is available to you, and it is a decision you make and the other involved makes

all things are possible

For me, you must be very grateful, If God gave you a virgin , but if not, don't be so disheartened. Rare are the virgins of today, some lost it against their will, some are only forced to be deflowered. But still, they want to retain that grace and dignity like that of a real virgin. Of course, it's too much of a creepy if you ask, the person u love and spend the rest of ur life, if she is a virgin and leave him/her in the instance u know she is not already. There are several factors why virginity is lost before the marriage, not only out of rebelion, out of lust, there are so many...

Virginity is spiritual not physical
