Once again Colorado Springs is getting the bad end of a wild fire, this time in a heavily forested area to the north east of the city. Over 90 homes have been destroyed already and almost 4,000 are evacuated. Five families from my church are among those evacuated.

I heard about that on the news :( I have some family there, too, but they haven't been evacuated yet.

Definitely praying about this, and everyone over that way.

Praying Jim! Gary and his family are in the evac area. He is posting a lot of photos on Facebook. It's awful. He is packing up. He and his kids are safe. Praying you are as well. My church prayed for all of you this evening!

For some reason I had thought Gary lived north west of the evac area, my bad.

It's now been confirmed that 360 homes have been destroyed and 80 more are yet unconfirmed. After only 48 hours this has become the most destructive fire in CO history.

I'm so sorry to hear about yet another natural disaster!! My goodness, the poor people who are living through and surviving all these calamities, one after the other...

Praying that you and all yours will be safe and find peace in the midst of the storm.

It has also been confirmed that there are 2 humans deaths from the fire so far. This fire is said to be 0 percent contained at this time. :(

Wow, praying that this fire is contained also for the people in harms way and the family of those who have died. Also everyone fighting this fire.

Actually at tonight's press conference they said it is 5% contained which still isn't much. God blessed us with reduced heat and reduced wind today so the plume of smoke coming from that end of town has dramatically reduced. There are 750 firefighters from multiple states risking their lives to contain it. The area was blessed to get the same incident commander that was in charge of the Waldo Canyon Fire last summer.
