Hi,

I was wondering what questions you have regarding purity? I am working on my ministry and my book, and though I know what God wants for me and I have the answers to my own questions, I was wondering what questions may be out there that I wouldn't consider. We all come from different backgrounds and, when seeking purity, we all come from different places of impurity, different degrees, and so I was wondering two things:

1. What questions do you have regarding purity?
2. Do you think someone outside of being a Christ follower would desire purity in their life?

Thanks. :)

NOTE: this same thread was posted in three different forums. Thanks.

No questions - just comments, I guess. There seem to be a lot of double standards still this day and age, even among Christians. The girl is expected to be all virginal and chaste. If the boy isn't...it doesn't seem like as big a sin as if she weren't.
2. Do you think someone outside of being a Christ follower would desire purity in their life?
Yes. There are numerous reasons why a nonbeliever would desire purity. Some adhere to old fashioned values, even if there is no spiritual meaning to them - they still want to be a "good" person and live morally. Others who may be in deceptive cults may keep pure, again, because of their moral code, and/or as a religious "work."

The above uses "purity" as most people see it. But I don't see purity necessarily the same as being a virgin or being chaste.

We can only really be pure through the blood of Christ. One can be a virgin and still be addicted to porn. One can be married and have an active sex life with one's spouse and be pure.

Thanks. :)
