I was telling them about friendship bracelets that my friends and I used to make.

Converse hi-tops in Jr High. Also rolling your pant legs up. But not straight up, rather pulling the back against your ankle, and folding the front over and rolling them up so they were snug against your leg.
Those 'madonna' bracelets that you could weave together in elementary school. Those are some the biggest i can remember participating in.

I still make friendship bracelets...the right way. ;)

I remember the pant rolling, too, where you folded it over and either tuck it in your colorful girly socks or roll it twice or so to keep it snug, as Ugly mentioned.

I also remember honeysuckles, which were half a lemon with a candy stick. :) That's not a big thing, I know, but I have thought about those randomly off and on the last few years. :)

I remember Pogs (those were huge!), Garbage Pail Kids (they nauseate me now), those little rhymes where you did the hand-patting thing with others (Say, Say Oh Playmate, Miss Susie, and the like). I remember drinking pickle juice. :) I remember when sleepovers didn't involve drinking and flirting and gory sex movies, but rather cheesy horror flicks and pillow fights. I didn't have many sleepovers. :) I remember Cat's Cradle and other such games.

-Overalls
-Scrunchies
-GigaPets/NanoPets
-Hair strands wrapped in thread
-Anything Lisa Frank
-Snap bracelets
-Mood rings

I could go on. Those were the days. :D

I also made trends of my own, and looking back in pictures, they make me think, "UGH, what was I thinking??"

In the 80's I remember wearing, high tops with leggins a knee length lace skirt, a tank top with a baggy shirt over it. Bows in our hair, big loop earrings and bangle bracelets. A lot of eyeliner and aqua net. It wasn't a good idea to light a match around a girl with big hair.

Scrunches and Lisa Frank! Loved it! :) Also, big, big hair. Ratting your bangs and using half a can of hairspray to hold it in place. Wearing one long earring and one short one. Ear cuffs. Bangles. :)

Using the word "Not" so often that it lost all meaning...not! And "Awesome!" :)

Hello Kitty was kind of trendy when I was young. Now I see it's back again. I've also noticed some things from the 80's coming back.

Big hair. But then, I'm from Texas where it's not a trend, it's a way of life intended for concealed carry. :D

(hush Stilly)

I'm not one for trends (especially vocabulary trends; they annoy me :) ), but I reeeeeeally got into the roller skating thing as a teen and I've never gotten over it. :)

When I was in first grade, I wanted a lot of Hello Kitty stuff. It was big back then. I didn't do a whole lot of trends because I either didn't care, or my parents couldn't afford for me to have the cool shoes or the cool toys and bracelets. Though I did do slap bracelets and those squishy "yo-yo's".

And these past few years I've been a hightop lover. :D The ones I have right now are kinda old and I'm needing new ones. But I still love them. :D Also, hightops give great ankle support.

I can't remember ever being trendy.

On the other hand, the whole cyclops thing is a classic look that never really goes out of style.
