Lots of people believe the Song of Solomon was about an interracial relationship...
There have been rumors that Solomon had some sort of relationship with the Queen of Sheeba (especially Ethiopian legend).

If you are in an interracial relationship, the best way to deal with people who make ridiculous comments or ask silly questions is to pretend you didn't know you and your spouse are not the same race. This can go 1 of two ways:

1. Act like you didn't realize your partner was a different color - "What!?!? He's Asian!?!?"
2. Act like you didn't know what race you are. "You mean to tell me I've been Black all these years!?!?"

It is believed that Menelik, the first Solomonic Emperor of Ethiopia was the son of Solomon and Sheeba. It is also believed that he brought the Ark of the Covenant to Ethiopia where it still is today.

Let's also not forget about Moses and Zipporah who was Ethiopian.

The church I go to has always had TONS of African Americans. They outnumber the white people. Interracial marriages were common, so I was always used to them.

Hooray on your relationship. I was waiting on more of that type of connections..the same connection that reproduced me. :) Don't let the stereotypes, traditions and any other disturbance in your union be a conflict. If God put you together, then it is meant for you to go through this. Only his true warriors can withstand the type of attention you get to luckily have. I know it can be overwhelming because you think people have grown up and grown further...but you just have to pray. And keep in good counsel that will minister God word to you. If you need to vent as we all do, I am here..and I am praying for you.

Welcome, la_justicia!
A friendly suggestion: check the last posting date of a thread that catches your attention. In this case, it was four years ago, and the person to who you responded probably won't see your post.

The posting date is in the upper-left corner of the post. While it isn't a rule, most regulars only respond to posts on the first couple of pages of a forum. That way we keep these "zombie threads" buried. :)

I have no problem with it. Though I'd probably never do it myself just to avoid drama with family members.

On that I would say, my family isn't the one I am marrying...And, keep it moving. A lot of time people are not comfortable with the interracial relationships that occur there for they allow others to put asunder what God has united. If they don't like it, tell them to push on...God is no respecter of persons, so why should they be?

Across the globe, there are numerous ethnic backgrounds represented, but we are all of one race: human.

Bi-ethnic marriages are not as much of a "bold step" in some developed western countries such as America, where a wide variety of ethnic peoples coexist. I can see how and why these types of relationships are seen as taboo in less developed countries, where the vast majority of people are of the same ethnicity.

Despite some people truly having deep-set prejudices against people of particular skin colors, I believe the potential for marriage problems in these situations come from a difference in culture, not "race". It is quite possible for two white people to come from completely opposing cultures and have nothing in common, and therefore have a more difficult experience if they were to marry.

Marriage is hard regardless of whom you marry, but it's true that people from extremely different cultures may face more challenges along the way, especially if they do not have an open mind and a selfless heart. That said, if both people have a right attitude, desire to learn and embrace the culture of their spouse, and have the support of their loved ones, a bi-ethnic marriage can actually be quite a beautiful thing.

My parents are from two completely different worlds. They have had many struggles when it comes to cultural differences, but they have also had many triumphs that are unique to multi-cultural marriages. I myself am Filipino-American, and I'm dating a young man who was born and raised in Asia, and we have already encountered some challenges (as well as some exciting and fun blessings!) that would probably not exist if he and his family were born in America.

I think it all depends on the hearts and attitudes of the individuals. :)

Not true. Our species is human, our race is our race. Race has been defined and has many many scientific differences between races. Further more its proven that biracial children suffer many ailments and weaker immunities and chemical systems than non mixed children. Studies also show a lower childhood happiness rate and dramatically lower adult success rate. And Filipino is a type of Asian.

I am sure many weak minds will twist what I am saying into "Everybody lets be racist." But it is simple fact to counter false teachings. Races do in fact exist, and mixing them does the same damage it does when you mix any breed of dog or any other animal. Their genetics slowly deteriorate over generation.

The fact you are a different color than me defines race. As in we are built different. There are many other differences as well. Thus we can not be the same race because we are not the same creature genetically.
We all not only have individual races but also cultures and set of values. This is not a bad thing but a beautiful thing we should all be proud of. To simply say we are all the same and to throw away all of our unique culture and ethnicity and values is a deeply horrible thing to do. Be proud of who and what you are, dont fall for the modern globalist agenda and believe that race and culture are evil things we should do away with. Its who we are. Let us just be us and not throw a blanket over the truth and everything in human history. Be proud of your culture, dont throw it away so freely. Do not wish for the world to be one race with no culture or identity. This does not mean love, it only means destruction. Do not destroy the history of Africa and the legends of your people. And do not destroy mine. They have existed all through time and they shall remain there no matter what you people put into your heads. I understand your point that racism is bad, but saying there are no races is likely much worse because its not true.

Is it not written in the bible the agenda of the new world order is to have one world race and religion and law? Is babylon not destroyed over and over again? This is our understanding but not the will of the Lord.

Interesting.

You are aware then, that Moses, a Jew, married a black (Cushite) woman?

Do you believe that unions like this, then, have led to some sort of genetic breakdown among the races? (I don't believe this at all, seeing as my entire family is mixed and some of their children are in the most advanced, gifted programs available), but I am interested in your opinions.

I really wonder how many people today are actually racially pure (after all, every human race originated from two human beings... and then eight people after The Flood.)

I have a close friend who was quite prejudice against Race X... and then he found out that something like 3 or 4 generations back, one of his blood relatives was a member of that race, meaning that he was biologically part of this race he harbored ill feelings towards as well.

It resulted in a rather interesting case of (racial) identity crisis.

Youre argument is that people have no right to pull apart what the Lord put together. But you can not say that anybody dating the Lord put them together. If you want to say the Lord does all things then explain free will. It is written that when the Lord binds something no man can separate it. But marriages are broken 90% of the time in this Nation in this time.

To my knowledge Moses died a virgin. I could not find any biblical or historical accounts of Moses getting married. Also Moses was a mere human and a heathen, even a murderer at times. Whatever it is he did, I do not follow Moses. I also do not hate other races like your friend so the example is not relevant to me.

The truth is the exact opposite. The more a "race" interbreeds the more genetic problems they have.

Same goes for dogs. A mutt is almost always healthier over the course of their lives than a "purebred".

Let's see these "studies" that show what you claim.
