am i weird?

i see single ppl on t.v. long for a girlfriend or boyfriend because their lives apparently mean nothing without them. i see people made fun of or felt sorry for because they hadnt had a date in years and i see many ppl who just long for that special someone.
i have had only one girfriend in my entire life one date and one kiss and i was ten, but my entire life i honestly never felt the need to have a girlfriend of course no one saw me as attractive in the first place but i didnt care. i also somehow knew and even now know that i will find that perfect someone when the time is right. i dont know if i am wierd or what but i just dont have those sexuel cravings others have, i dont desire sex, and if i ever do kiss someone i am not doing that tongue thing. im not gay but i just find it not in my best interest to date someone if i dont love them.
i only seem to have an intense desire for god and thats it. wierd right?

It sounds like a special gift. I with people would be less quick to call themselves weird or crazy. There is a standard of "normal" but it is something different than how we tend to interpret it.

Either way, my friend. You could very well be different others in a respect that is normally very important, but that is more than okay. It isn't sinful either.

Don't sweat it. Keep looking to God and keep pushing on. Leave the populating of the earth to carnal people like me. :p

If you were comparing yourself to the world's standards, then yes, you are probably weird.

If you were to compare yourself to Christ, then definitely not. :) Count it something to be thankful for.

Does it even really matter if your weird or not? Do people call you weird? If its not yours don't take it, so what you haven't found the girl of your dreams yet, she's still out there and you should be praying that her family is raising and treating her right so that you may have beautiful, and devoted wife. So maybe you are weird, and maybe your not but does it really matter?

well i guess i just see how everyone else deals with these things and i just dont or dont care and find it a little strange. like how is it i somehow know i wil find my perfect girl? its just a sense of knowing and i just dont care if i even dont ever get a girl because i desire god so much more and i wonder if this was his doing from my birth so that my entire heart would desire only him

As long as you truly are after God's heart and not using this as some sort of skewed way to pick up/attract girls. It almost seems that way, with how much you are pushing the "I only desire God!" bit, which is great, but sometimes you show it more by living it and not saying it. I'm not saying you do, necessarily... I'm saying be careful with it.

oh im very sorry that was not my intention at all ty for letting me know. but i dont do online dating or picking up girls online because its not exactly the safest thing

Hi Heartseeker,

in Matthew 19:11-12 it has the following: But He said to them, 'Not all men can accept this statement, but only those to whom it has been given. For there are eunuchs who were born that way from their mother's womb; and there are eunuchs who were made eunuchs by men; and there are also eunuchs who made themselves eunuchs for the sake of the kingdom of heaven. He who is able to accept this, let him accept it.'

Here we find that of those who are single for a long time, whether for a season or right through until the resurrection are from three sources, some do so in service to the Kingdom of God, and some are made so by many complicated reasons by the broken nature of this world, and some like yourself might be born this way, and simply don't desire it (again whether for a season or until the resurrection). So no you are not weird, but rather this is part of who you are in God, who is renewing you and restoring you day by day into the gloriously full, unique and beautiful human being He always wanted you to be, until finally you will be in Him fully and truly yourself at the resurrection :) . So don't worry, and rejoice is how He made you and just be all you are in Him, and be model the single godly life before the Church, as a model for our total dependence on God for everything, and as a symbol of His love of each of us individually, and of how unique everyone is in the Church, and how it needs each and everyone and their unique talents and reflections of God's love and character :) .

So take heart and fear not, you are loved and blessed :D
