Hey Everyone,

Is there a part of you that's still a kid inside and always will be? Sometimes it's just nice to let go of all the responsibilities and worries and sorrows... to find a moment of joy in what may seem like the smallest things.

At Christmas dinner, both my brother and I showed up in Spider-man t-shirts (mine, of course, was much cooler. :))

My toddler nephews also their parents, "Auntie Kim really likes to play... Is she a kid like us, or a grown-up like you?" (That REALLY made me laugh! :)) On the other side of the family, my sister-in-law and niece were horrified by my confession that I've ALWAYS wanted a pair of "light-up" sneakers (hey, I do a lot of walking when it's still dark, so they'd actually be very practical! :)) I keep thinking someday I'll find a pair in a bigger kids' size and be able to fit into those...

At the playground, I still swing on the swings.

And when my parents and I were in a car accident a few weeks ago (no one was harmed, thank the Lord), my Dad talked about how everything you know can change in the blink of an eye. I know it sounds incredibly childish, but when I went to sleep a few night later, I asked my Mom to tuck me i before they left.

She pulled a blanket over me and gave me a big hug and kiss good-night, just like she did when they first got me (after my adoption, even though I was too young to remember then.)

You're Never Too Old... to play with kids, to wear a favorite t-shirt, or buy a pair of light-up shoes.

And, You're Never Too Old to know you are loved, and that you love that person right back so very much.

What are you never too old for?

Pillowforts/blanketforts
Definitely!! My nephews had a little toy projector and at night, always asked me to come watch "movies" (short educational runs) with them. We each had our own pillow, blanket, and task (turning out the light, arranging the pillows just right, etc.) and had built ourselves quite a little haven. I'd always ask, "Is everybody comfy and toasty?" before we'd start. My sister-in-law came in one night and laughed because she found me buried in a pile of blankets, pillows, and kids.

The last morning I was there, one of my nephews came sleepily wandering out of his room. When I took him back and carefully tucked him in, he said sleepily, "Ok, Auntie Kim. All comfy and toasty," as he gave me a hug and fell back asleep. :)

You-re Never Too Old To..

Take risks and do things that go beyond your comfort.
Dream big and ACT in consequence of it without listening to the ten thousand million people that always try to hold you back
Go to the person you are interested of and telling her-him what you have inside. Do not fear rejection, fear the lack of decision.
Go beyond the church-bench-Sunday-conference little world. Serve God out of your state, out of your country. See God's love through other cultures. Do not ever settle. Never. Innovate.
Cook the dish you have always loved.
Do something out of the normal status quo. Something that would make happy the life of a kid, elder or lonely person.

Do not expect other people to transform your life into something amazing. Make yourself amazing through your attitude and service to others.

That is such a grown up answer.

Playing hide and seek and tag with my kids.

Getting excited about going to the zoo or an amusement park. I often feel like a kid again when I do these things with my children.

I like this thread!! Here's a few things I think you're never too old to do:

- Enjoy pillow or blanket forts

- Spoil your appetite with junk

- Ice cream for break fast

- Water and water balloon fights

- Cake fights

- Visiting the zoo and over loading on candy and souvenirs from the concession stands.

- To follow your dreams

-To follow your heart

- To play video games

- To take risks

-To fall in love

- To turn to God

- To watch cartoons all day

- To see a world of possibilities rather than the stressful ball of life it turns into when we become adults.

- To get excited over your favorite band

Ah I could go on and on.

-

jump rope, double dutch and hoola hoop
watermelon bubblegum (though a little of that goes a looooong way)
skateboarding
cartwheels
watching an old movie in my footed pjs with popcorn for dinner
having a girlfriend reverse french braid my hair.
loading up an arm with those squishy black jelly bracelets
a pb & j and cutting the crusts off all my sandwiches and slicing them up on the diagonal twice
snow angels
playing on the monkeybars or swings
double-dog-daring someone
going with your girlfriend to get another ear piercing
candyland with your friend's kids
writing something on my hand so i won't forget it

oh, and the occasional staring contest...

Making up ridiculous songs & just singing them out loud to yourself,or a loved one.

Laying on the floor or in bed with a coloring book & a box of 64 of the best crayons ever!

Jumping head first into a pile of leaves.

Rolling around on the floor wrestling with your dog.

Building anything with LEGOS.

Giving a loved one a raspberry on an obscure part of their body when they least expect it...shoulder,neck,leg. lol
(this is like when you blow a baby's belly...same idea, but I dunno what you call it) - yeah I'm strange.:p

-Blow bubbles
-Put a flower behind your ear/in your hair
-Walk barefoot in the grass
-Like chicken nuggets, macaroni and cheese, and cheese pizza
-Go puddle jumping (my friend and I did that in college after a giant rain storm, it's one of my best memories with her)
-Silly dance spontaneously
-Slide across the kitchen floor in your socks
