First, sorry I have been gone from here for such a long time. I missed the fellowship:) Anyway, my situation is this: I'm 44 years old. I'm divorced. I'm ready to meet that Godly man I know is out there, but I'm getting discouraged. Any advice?

I don't know about advice, but I can tell you what I'm thankful for. I'm thankful that God has kept me from making serious mistakes, marrying the wrong person just so I won't be alone. I'm thankful that He taught me loving godly relationships are possible so I know not to settle for less. I'm thankful that He is there when I need guidance and don't know where to turn. I'm thankful that I can so often see the footsteps He has put before me. I'm thankful that He doesn't give up on me when I wrestle against Him, usually when He tells me no. I'm thankful that He's teaching me the futility of wrestling against His "no". I'm thankful that I know His answer will not always be no.

I pray that God will be your wisdom, your counsel, your protection and your comfort until your time is right as well. :)

my advice? i think what you need to do is trust god. if he hasnt found you that perfect match its for a good reason. perhaps he wants you to become more intimate with him first before you become intimate with another man. lol i can see it now god has those puppy eyes that just say - me first please?

Two very important verse recently struck a chord with me in my single walk.

Philippians 4:6-7 Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding;
in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.

These verses remind me that I often resort to my own way of thinking and doing things because on some level it's like I don't trust that God has something (or in this case, someone) really extraordinary set aside for me. Even if you feel like there are no prospects in your line of vision, or that there seemed liked there could have been but was lost, don't let that discourage you. The unseen things are where God really makes things happen and His subtleties are so genius and His ways are far beyond anything we can imagine. How can we limit God's abilities the way we limit our own? In this situation present your requests to God, lean not on your own understanding and make everything about your life all about God. In His hands you are protected and if you lean on Him He will not allow your heart to ache or break because it belongs to Him. Would any great father want anything less for his precious daughter?

Great verses; and I love Philippians, the Epistle of joy.

Blessings.

Thank you all for your words of encouragement :) I know He has big plans for me. I also know that when I try anything I fail miserably! I am thankful for praying Christian friends and for my Heavenly Father who sees the big picture and reveals all in accordance to His will :)
