How many times have you tried to do something simple and it turned into a huge mistake? I have to believe that it is during such times that God is teaching me some lesson, especially, when it becomes so blatantly obvious to me that I've created more of a problem than I started with in the beginning.

In the Bible somewhere (sorry for not knowing the scriptural address)
I states somewhere, in the Bible, that God's load is light... his load isn't meant to be a burden. How many other people are like me and grab an extra 2-3 backpacks that God did not intend for us to carry?

What type of prayer would you pray to ask God to help you stop grabbing all this extra stuff to carry along the pathway? I'm certain that half of the stuff I pick up was never intended for me to shoulder... Why then do I do it?

When you feel burdened because of what you've picked up... what do you pray?

Have you overcooked your pop tart lately?

The Scripture you are thinking off is Matt 11v28-30...

I was just having a look at your profile and according to that (if it is correct) you were saved in 2011, which basically makes you 3 years old, ie. a babe in Christ (1Peter 2v1-3), notice what Peter says that as you desire the milk of the word you grow (spiritually in Christ), and your tendency to "carry unnecessary items" is simply because of your spiritual immaturity. As you feed upon the Scriptures and pray, you will grow (spiritually) and so become the condition Paul describes in Heb 5v14 (with Heb 5v11-6v2):

"But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil"

You can find a few studies Here, Here, Here, Here, Here and Here to help with your faith and walk in Christ...

Yahweh Shalom...

I overcook my spiritual pop tarts all the time. Sometimes, in an effort to take control of the situation, I lose all control of the situation. We were never meant to control the situation, we are supposed to trust Christ.

I was actually saved in 1991 -- however, I spent 20 years of serious pruning - I kept Jesus on the Porch, and never truly let him into my heart - In that ... THEN it was what Jesus could do for me, Unlike NOW, which is what can *I* do for the Lord.. it was a long growth process. I only claim since 2011 because I didn't start dying to self until 2011.... if that makes sense and I still wonder if I'm even worthy of being called saved at times because I'm still very aware of my stumbling nature.

Well, you are confirming what I am saying in a roundabout way actually: a person can be saved many years (ie >20 years) and still be a "babe in Christ" (just like the Hebrew Christians that Paul was writing to in Heb 5v11-6v2), your issue of carrying unnecessary "baggage" is a product of spiritual immaturity, as you grow in Christ this will change (there is NO "quick fix"), its as simple as that!

lol the humor..:D

Well, i completely fit in the category...
what to do?Cry out to God "Help,Lord"...

When i feel burdened because of the unnecessary junk i carry, usually i know am carrying junk..
Mainly because am tired of fighting my own shadows..so the burdens are taken to get some break from that which results in the title you have for this thread....and my expression becomes this - :(
Well the Good part is after getting messed up a lot in the same spot and after a lot of Prayer(Spiritual warfare including Church Meetings) the wresting with world makes me Spiritually Strong to the point where i begin to Overcome just like that..with no tension. Its all possible through God's Grace. In fact this is the way we learn, the people who don't learn will not be bothered if its overcooked or not. That's the difference between people who eat overcooked things and people who are aware of the conditions which can lead to so...

So i think when we are tired of overcooking that means we are on the way to VICTORY..yay!
:D
God Bless:)Prayer is the way out of devil's clutch..and when we shed our self pride more he looses his hold,
and when he sees the Presence of God he will run away..

Maybe you will hate what am going to say now,
but i have to say....
Like many times i say in the posts "do not pay heed to condemnation preachers, just tell them to share their life, they will also go like the above mentioned one who flees seeing the Presence of God"

In your perfect sinless walk in Christ up to this moment you read this comment, how did you stay sinless based on all the High standards Jesus gave?

From those same mistakes God makes us learn, you're not alone..
There are many..
That's why its Faith Life..
we are all learning,none Perfect..
God makes us Perfect when we Realize that none loves us like Jesus - based on experience.
How many times i made mistakes when i was careful enough to not make one...then after enough mess i give up and turn to God saying God i tried my level best. But its not working. When i balance it here, something happens on the other side...when i balance on the other side, this side is messed up.Even vain talk comes in sin...
so thinking of all this,i ask God "why so?"

And He says,Give your worries to me and Pray...i will balance everything:)
we shouldn't put ourselves into self condemnation mode..its a terrible sin.
Repent and move on:)
God Bless.

Note: like your profile pic, make those glasses two,you got my glass:D

you are Saved!
if you are worried about it after you have experienced the Salvation in Jesus and accepted Jesus as Savior in your 'trouble times',then its definitely satan's trick to confuse..

And if you're confused after hearing a condemnation preacher, you can ask that person how that person's perfect walk in Christ was...
Do not look at people, look at Jesus.
i was a man who tried to end life because i felt there is no point in going on and realizing i was total failure as a Christian.God didn't let me Go...i was literally pulled up from death by His spirit with Tender Care. That's why i decided to run the Race the Race to Glory again, because this time i realize God is Love and He is not a condemning god but a God who threw His Life(2000 years ago) away to Redeem me.And that Love made me overcome many things, still overcoming:)

Yahweh Shalom...

I'm not a huge fan of Paul... Paul was a jerk (in my controversial opinion - perhaps because I can be a lot like him- because he hits close to home) ...before anyone jumps on the Bandwagon about how great Paul was... he wrote pretty much the second half of the Bible, I know..remember it was God that found Paul, paul didn't find God. my opinion includes what people fail to realize is that there is a transition period between prideful sinful behavior and recognition of falling short of the Glory of God. Paul is often Glorified in Christian circles... I understand that transition period. There's a huge inner struggle that continues to happen in my opinion. While there are some jailhouse salvation stories or dynamic flips from bad to good.. there are still others that stumble and fall along the way.

While you can point a finger and call me a babe in Christ... I take that compliment because I know I'm welcomed in as I a child. In my original post, I was pointing out how many times i had picked up extra baggage all on my own, clearly aware of this means I must have already worked through this with God. I over cooked my pop tart... that was my error. While I have come to a point where I'm able to recognize the extra garbage I'm carrying, there are many Christians out there that have no clue... that feel their Christian walk is a burden... God's burden is light. I pray other new babe's in Christ are able to learn from my experience and recognize the extra baggage they carry. I Also pray that I'm never so confident and complacent in my walk with Christ that I forget to question areas I need to improve There's more to say but I simply can't be bothered.

Yes,it is..
God's burden is light..i say yes it is a fact from experience.Only those who feel the chains of bondage released can say that.It starts with loosing pleasure in things God doesn't like. When we overcome,we deal to others with compassion(Godly) because we know the struggles we went through..Thanks for sharing.

i Pray to God that He Strengthens us all to Stand for God in the world where everything is marching to doom.
With God we will Preach Jesus and that makes the rest of the shackles that hold us.

From my personal experience its when i started sharing Gospel to the weary that i began to start feeling the Freedom from various bondage.

God Bless:)

There was a typo..It is "With God we will Preach Jesus and that makes the rest of the shackles that hold us break and we are freed..."

Can't think how you came to this conclusion, so I'll give you a bit of advice "young sir": read what is actually written in a post, NOT what you imagine is there!
