I was just wondering what was everyone's favorite bible verses? I want to paint a verse on my bedroom wall and I am undecided which one I should pick so I am creating this thread in the hope that one of the verses mentioned "speaks to me" and that's the one that will make it to my wall.

My other favourite verse is Romans 8:28, I can't choose a favourite between those two. I like the chalk effect, so I thought this might give you some inspiration. All the best in your search.

I love Sabbie's chosen verse. What an encouragement it would be to wake up and see that every morning. My favorite verse is

"Let everything that has breath praise the Lord" Psalm 150:6 - it's our calling. If we concentrate on this, all else will fall into place or pale in importance.

I have a friend who published a book called "Parting the Waters" about her teenage son's drowning experience. He survived but with brain damage. Before the accident, he had written above the door to his bedroom:

Today is the Greatest Day, and I am in it.

That quote is very well known now, and used by many for inspiration. He is still in each great day, trusting God. I thought that was neat.

The Psalms are so widely encompassing in their range of experience; they never cease to be very relevant to the believer.

I love the 'But God' there: even when we were completely in our sins, God on His own initiative intervened. He didn't tell us our civil rights; He sent the Savior in His great love and mercy.

Joshua 1:9 is a favorite of mine

"Have I not commanded you? Be strong and a of good courage. Do not be afraid, neither you be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go."

and I also like Psalm 100:5

"For the Lord is good; His mercy is everlasting; and His truth endures to all generations."

i have a couple different favorite verses that seem to change a bit from time to time.

john 13:35

By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another

i deeply cherish the fact that of all the many ways we can be identified and set apart as His disciples, what He chose is for us to be identified is our love for another. and in a world that we live in, it is indeed our actions of love that may shine brightest against the darkest backdrop of hate, apathy, anger, misery and callous disregard.

this is the verse that is dancing across a most visible space in my home in sweeping calligraphy. i see it many times a day, and it whispers, challenges, convicts and humbles me all the time.

2 corinthians 12:9

And He has said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for power is perfected in weakness." Most gladly, therefore, I will rather boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may dwell in me.

in previous years, i've been reluctant, even private when it comes to sharing the details about my history prior to recommitting my life to Christ. while this verse is a giant comfort to me during difficult times, it constantly is a reminder of how important it is to share my mistakes and the painful paths that led me to where i am today, all because God wouldn't give up on me.

i love that He reminds us that we can honor him with the victory from our failings through transparency and testimony.

I have had a hard time with suffering in my life.. clearly from the verse I have to keep written .. etched into my heart== Thank you Jesus for Loving me.

Ephesians 4:31-32
31 Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you, along with all malice.32 Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.
James 1:2-4
Testing of Your Faith
2 Count it all joy, my brothers,[a] when you meet trials of various kinds,3 for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness.4 And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.
Romans 5:3-5
3 Not only that, but we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance,4 and endurance produces character, and character produces hope,5 and hope does not put us to shame, because God's love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.

I think a reading of Isaiah 53 can help put the theme of suffering into perspective, as we remember what the Lord Jesus, the believer's sympathetic High Priest, went through in a unique way, when He was made sin for His people.

Joh 11:35 And Jesus himself was weeping.

Joh 11:35 Jesus wept.

Joh 11:35 ויבך ישוע׃

Joh 11:35 Jesus burst into tears.

I thought about it and picked this for you. The Beatitudes. I know its probably too long, but...

Matthew 5:3-12

[SUP]3 [/SUP]“Blessed are the poor in spirit,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
[SUP]4 [/SUP]Blessed are those who mourn,
for they will be comforted.
[SUP]5 [/SUP]Blessed are the meek,
for they will inherit the earth.
[SUP]6 [/SUP]Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness,
for they will be filled.
[SUP]7 [/SUP]Blessed are the merciful,
for they will be shown mercy.
[SUP]8 [/SUP]Blessed are the pure in heart,
for they will see God.
[SUP]9 [/SUP]Blessed are the peacemakers,
for they will be called children of God.
[SUP]10 [/SUP]Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

[SUP]11 [/SUP]“Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. [SUP]12 [/SUP]Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.

Philippians 4:
4 Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice!5 Let your gentleness be known to all men. The Lord is at hand.
6 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; 7 and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

8 Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things. 9 The things which you learned and received and heard and saw in me, these do, and the God of peace will be with you.
