The homemade ( by a lady at church) purple silk bridesmaids dress I was made to wear at a friends wedding about 7 years ago.... dress made me look like lumpy space princess :(

Did you go around telling everyone it was adventure time?

i want a refund on the time wasted posting in the pointless, troll-filled threads on cc. : )
See why I don't post all that often. :p

I want a refund for the ONE time I didn't get a Butterfinger blizzard at DQ.

I feel like with how much I fill up my car with gas that I should get some kind of refund from the government for the economic stimulus that I provide single-handedly.

hahahaaa, so agreed. wouldn't mind my money and time back for several of the awful bridesmaid dresses.

of all the horrible bridesmaid dresses i've had to wear, none were as worse as the awful dress, made by the brides aunt. it was possibly two sizes too large and had a GIANT bow where the behind was supposed to be.

that's love, people. wearing horrible, horrible clothes where everyone is going to take your picture at least 3 dozen times.

*shudders*

So, love is an opportunity for blackmail.

Interesting...

Hey Everyone,

As I was driving home from a very long week, I decided my comfort food of choice was going to be a box of raisin bran (I know... I totally live on the edge... all that bran!! :)) And it wasn't going to be just ANY kind of raisin bran cereal, but rather... the kind with the raisins so heavily coated in sugar that they actually grit between your teeth... mmm, yummy!!!

I was really excited to see a box on the shelf (I hadn't had it in a while so I wasn't familiar with all the varieties) that boasted, "EXTRA Raisins!!" Woo hoo!!! I was practically humming to myself as I got home and poured myself a BIG bowl... (Hey, I get excited about food. :))

However, to my dismay... there were only about THREE raisins among the entire amount I'd poured. What the hee haw??? Three raisins from a box of "extra raisin" raisin bran??? Seriously, I wanted a refund!! (I probably shouldn't joke about this, seeing as I've worked in many stores where people actually did demand refunds for these kinds of things.)

What things in life have been your own "I Want a Refund" moments? Maybe it was something you were really excited about (a game, book, movie, show, event?) that didn't meet up to all the hype? Maybe it was time or money you'd invested into something or someone that wound up being a huge disappointment? (I know someone out there is going to say, "Seoul, I want a refund on any time I've spent reading your threads!!" :) And that's ok. :D) This thread is meant to be light-hearted but maybe you have something serious you'd like to share as well--maybe there's a time in your life you spent on all the wrong things and wish you could get back.

For anyone with serious regrets, I would like to share this Scripture: Joel 2:25, 26 "I will restore to you the years that the swarming locusts have eaten... You shall eat in plenty and be satisfied, and praise the name of the Lord your God, who has dealt wondrously with you."

What are the things that you wish you could have a refund on? (It's good to know that whatever it may be, God has the ability to cover any refunds in our lives.) :)
I want a refund for the time I spent waiting in the express lane at Walmart. Welcome to Walmart, where 20 items or less really means 200 items or less.

Seriously.

One time, my dad and I went to buy a toothbrush, milk, and something else. We had 3-5 items total. Walmart was fairly busy, except for one lane in the express lane. Lucky for us, we got stuck behind an extreme couponer (I am dead serious when I say this - being an extreme couponer should be a red flag or a deal breaker)! She had 30-50+ items in her cart. Heck we won the lottery with this chick because she wasn't even halfway done with her cart when we got behind her. It took a total of 15-20 minutes for her cart AND all of her coupons to be scanned. It doesn't help that the cashiers at Walmart are not trained properly so they're ALWAYS as slow as molasses straight from the fridge. The real kicker, though? After all of that, they needed her ID for something, and guess what? She left it in her car! Her ID! My dad and I just left everything after that.

I hate Walmart most days. No amount of money could pay me back for the wasted time I've spent in there.

I hate that, I work an express lane from time to time. Believe it or not, we don't have the ability to say "Umm, it's 20 items or less....you've got like 300 items, you need to move to another lane".....we have to check anyone out regardless of how much they have, even if there is a person behind them with only two things. Kinda defeats the purpose IMO.

Ooooh but what if someone gets offended! *gasp* THAT can't happen. Plus, whoever brings them more money should obviously be the priority, even if it is in the express lane. I mean, the losses would eventually add up. But hey, who cares? They don't! What's a few million dollars to them, anyways? :p

I wanted a refund the first time I bought a bag of Doritos, and to my horror discovered that half the bag was air. Anyone remember the good ol days back when the bag used to be filled to the brim? Now they give you half as much chips packaged in a big half empty bag, and charge more than they used to :(
I think a lot of it has to do with the manufacturing process.

sadly that was before I knew of adventure time. If I had I would have totally walked around talking like lumpy space princess just for fun.

You've all probably figured out by now that I almost always have henna/mehndi on my hands. I love the intricate patterns, clean, crisp lines and the overall beauty of it. One time I was at a fair and there was a henna booth so I figured I would get it done. When she was done, I wanted to cry. Worst $100 I ever spent and I would like a refund. Here's a pic don't blame me if you have nightmares! ;)

I don't know if it was a waste.. I kinda like it.

...so, what's the stuff made of? I initially thought it was ink, but on a closer look, it seems like chocolate frosting.

That time it was my fourth birthday, and my Hungarian grandfather had previously gone fishing, caught a big tuna, and gave it to me as a birthday gift. Then my mother, who was so excited, made me stand outside in the rain while I held the fish for a photo, and I began to cry.

Yeah... that memory. I want it refunded, thank you. :p

I am sorry you had to go through that. Is that permanent? If so, is there a way you can have it removed? Must be terrible for you.

Oh there is a lot of things I wanted refunded! Bad food, bad dinners, bad dates--not the food, thee dates I am talking about.. with wrong women. Wasted time with them! Anyway! Many more I like to get refund and some I am not going to say more.

Only thing I can do and I agree with Doc Emmett Brown in the Back to the Future movie he said to Marty McFly and Marty's girlfriend at the end of the 3rd movie installment. He said, "You can make your future anything you want." That was Doc's lesson and he wanted a refund: wished never have built his time machine--the Delorean with the Flux Compactor.

Dang! I wish I can have that car!! DOC!!! DOC!! Oh shucks! sigh! ;)

Not really. It used to be full bag of chips and other snacks. They are now selling less because they want more money from you. Have you noticed everything else gotten smaller? Yogurt for example. It used to be 6 oz. Now 5.3 oz although some appears to be MUCH less than that in those containders. Cereals too. Used to be bigger box but its smaller, the depths are shadow, not deep. Um, shampoo.. I recalled my favorite shampoo gotten smaller containder as well.

It has NOTHING to do with manufacturing machines or whatever. It is the OEM preferences to "keep-prices-low-yet-make-more-profits". I know so because my family was in sheet metal, HVAC, farming, banking, computer refinished, computer education businesses. And I am a designer, CAD drafter, and an RV start up manufacturer. We find corners to cut. I used to work for a transmission supplier. I know what they do. That is the ugly truth, my friend.

The 3 minutes I spent listening to that song "selfie" on the campus shuttle.
