No offense to the OP, but should we not live as if it's our last hour?
I played an interesting game with my daughter a couple weeks ago. I said.. what if you knew when you were going to die or when the world was going to end. Fortunately, I had JUST told her how much I loved her.. and we agreed to try this as an experiment...she is 7... so to make a game of it, I said okay when the clock reaches 7:56, the world would be over and both of us would cease to exist. What would we do? it was 7:45 ... that was 11 minutes.
We BOTH spent time watching the clock in silence determining what we didn't have time for. Interestingly, it was like brain freeze, as if we were frozen.. waiting. Very little action. 7:56 happened. I said ... it's over. What did we forget? We did not call a single person we did not cuddle in fear or anxiety but the clock watching was obvious for BOTH of us. I said I am glad i said I love you right before we started playing... she said Oh my ..let's redo this. so we played again. at 8:04, the we would cease to exist. We expressed our love... we prayed for one another... and we finished ahead of time and asked God to speed up the time, because she said she was ready early.
interestingly, we did not put our effects in order, we still didn't call anyone, we did not say goodbye, but see you on the other side... although we agreed that if we didn't quite make it to Heaven, our love was always strong.
Take a moment with the person you are sitting with and try this... make it less than 10 minutes. See if you too are a clock watcher... I do not think I would do anything spectacular, but I would pray to God and I would pray for my loved ones and.. more interesting to me is that I would pray for my most current enemies.. because they too crossed my mind. (and no I'm not praying they don't make it .. but rather that they have comfort in knowing they have my forgiveness.
