A while ago, there was a thread asking about movies that you absolutely can not stand. So I thought we should have one with movies that you enjoyed. So let's hear them! My favorite all time movie would have to be "The Blind Side."

Friendly Persuasion of 1956 is my all time favorite, everything in it made you feel good from the arrogant duck to the uptight elders of the church.

I love almost all of BBC's production of period dramas/movies but if I am to chose just one, it would have to be "North and South" (an adaptation on Elizabeth Gaskell's novel on the same).

Laura - 1940'sfilm noir classic starring Gene Tierney and Dana Andrews in which a young woman is murdered in her apartment. The detective who is trying to solve the case begins to fall in love with her the more he learns about her life and character, which is kind of creepy, since, she is, well...dead. But it turns out that it's someone else who was murdered and the real Laura comes back home from out of town. She is now a suspect. Then things get weird...

Young Frankenstein - hilarious Mel Brooks farce. This is my litmus test for if a woman has a compatible sense of humor with me. If she doesn't think this is a funny movie, I will dump her.

To Kill a Mockingbird - excellent movie adapted from an excellent book. I lose it every time Atticus leaves the courtroom after losing the case.

Brazil - one of the better dystopian future flicks.

The Princess Bride - "My name is Inigo Montoya. You killed my father. Prepare to die!"

Lord of the Rings films

The Mission- a story of the redemption of a slave trader and priests trapped between God and church politics in colonial South America

Luther- I think every christian should watch this to understand what our religious freedom cost the founders

There's probably more I like (I didn't even mention Star Wars (oh wait now I have)), but this is a good short list

I shared in chat and in the "memorable date" thread that a ladyfriend proposed to me. Twice. The second time she did that, I made her get on one knee on the sidewalk, just like in the movie. I still said no...hahaha.

I almost said "Bringing Up Baby" too, but I realized my list already had a lot of black and whites...
We've mentioned "Charade" in chat. Great flick.

If you will not sit through it with me, this relationship will not work.

Because if we are in a relationship, you WILL have to sit through it with me.

I'll watch it with you but only if we then watch Star Trek IV : The Voyage Home and hear spock practice his colorful metaphors.

There are too many for me... I'm keeping some copies of some of them and, if I could, I would include several TV series (like those as Munster Family, Adam's... and "Los Tres Chiflados") JA! JA!

I thoroughly enjoy foreign films. I always have subtitles on as opposed to it being dubbed because I love the sound of foreign languages.

- I love many Studio Ghibli anime movies although I don't watch them as much anymore.
- Then those 'Crouching tiger, hidden dragon', 'Hero', 'House of Flying Daggers' kind of movies
- European movies such as 'The Intouchables', '99 Francs', 'The Artist' and 'Most'.
- Christian movies include, 'Grace Card', 'Courageous', 'Facing the Giants' and 'Fireproof'
- Then there are ones like 'The Painted Veil', 'Toy Story 3', and 'Beauty and the Beast' and many other Disney favourites
