Age is such a relative thing. You have physical age, but experiences, circumstances, personality and so many other things factor into our "age".

Having kids makes you automatically older.
Being financially supported by your parents makes you automatically younger.
Owning a home with all it's responsibilities makes you older.
Not knowing how to drive a stick shift makes you younger.
Having a long-time job makes you older.
Being physically active keeps you younger.

This is just for fun. What experiences and circumstances have aged you? What has kept you from aging? Calculate your age and share it with us. (Remember to show your work. ;) )

Yes, I'm ancient as pi when it comes to raising children. I even bore a daughter in my old age like Sarai bore a son when she was, like, 90 years old.

I hate age. Why couldn't God make us all look 20 years old until the day we die?? :p

Well just recently (last couple of years) pondered this question. And yes this and that will add and subtract a little here and a little there. I was as we all are especially when I was younger to have elders grandparents and a little less great and great great ones. They all show and tell their stories of memories better then history books what they saw as children and what they saw old. With that history they would try yo explain what they saw ahead most was close so a lot of years of knowledge being passed on from their greats to mine easy two hundred.

When I was in junior high school eight grade we watched a movie called future shock . wow more of a documentary. What I know is in my lifetime trying to figure if I was even close to seeing twenty years ago what the reality is today I'd have to say some close but mostly vastly different
I was trying to think just a little on the next twenty and I can say this even with all the experience of my long past of seeing those twenty year blocks pass I can see dimly the reality of the next twenty
If and when I get there the reality is it will be vastly different then even my best imaginations very sobering indeed

Age is a number I feel from day to day. I am older today than yesterday, yet younger than I will be tomorrow.

What a great thread!! I'm honestly not sure how old I am in "years of experience", so this should be pretty interesting.

Life Event / Age in Years (+ or -)
1. Married and divorced by age 25. - 20
2. Not having any children. + 25
3. Raising someone else's children for 3 years. + 10
4. Arm-wrestling my teenage nephew for the front seat. - 10
5. Losing Hide'N'Seek to my 4-year-old nephew. - 5
6. Demanding cake on my birthday. - 10
7. Discovering a new hobby (houseplants!) - 10
8. Realizing I may be substituting said houseplants for cats (as an alternative to becoming a "Crazy Cat Lady", I am becoming "The Crazy Cactus Lady.") + 20
9. Adding up all these numbers: + 5
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

And there you have it, folks.

I am officially 5 years old.

Shocking, I know. ;D (Someone get me another cactus to soothe my prickly nerves...)

Thank you, Grace!

However, I should have made one small correction to point # 4... "Arm-Wrestling My Teenage Nephew for The Front Seat... AND WINNING!!!" HUZ-ZAH!!! * Does Victory Dance and Takes a Lap, but NOT a Victory Lap Dance!!*

My arm socket might be permanently wrenched out of place ("Right Shoulder Replacement, +20 years"), and I had to hang half my weight off the side of the SUV we were arm-wrestling across... but DOGGONE IT ALL, I WON!!! :D

I'm in my late twenties, but I have felt this mature since my early twenties (I felt like a 28-year-old). I don't feel any more mature than when I graduated college.
