Good grief! Dissing P.O.D.? They may not make music you enjoy (that's plainly obvious) but they're genuine and they live for Christ. Also, not every song has to be happy, happy, joy, joy. Nor should they be. It's honest and true and good to explore the full human condition through song. This song just happens to be one that explores sadness and a longing for that glimmer of hope on the horizon.

The song speaks for itself.

Always do what the Spirit leads you to do, Jim...even if that means move on, then so be it. But just remember that you are still in the flesh, as we all are; still prone to its weaknesses...and yet for those weaknesses our Captain shows us mercy and covers us even while we beat on our chest crying out, "lord have mercy on me, a wretched sinner." (Luke 18:13). Know that Christ said such is one who went home justified in God's eyes.

...Or like Paul who says, "I do not understand what I do. For what I want to do I do not do, but what I hate I do." (Romans 7:15). Such is a man who has seen the third heaven.

Then there was a man who - out of the blue - befriended me because I guess he thought I needed one...who - later on - messaged me just to say he hopes I'm doing well. He didn't owe me anything, nor were we acquainted and yet he was concerned enough about my well-being, me, a complete stranger to him. You remember that Jim?

Even with all of my knowledge in the scriptures, that one gesture showed me you knew more of what this walk was about than most who profess to be devout, so much so that it puts any knowledge I'd display to shame.

1 Corinthians 13:2
2 If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing.

You "Loved your neighbor as yourself." Or in my case, you loved a complete stranger on a website, as yourself.

And so ask yourself again, "who truly benefits the people here?" Is it me or those like me with our knowledge of scripture or this talent or that talent? Or is it you who embodies Christ's second greatest commandment? Keep that in mind whether you go for good or return.

1 Corinthians 12:4-6

Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit.

5 And there are varieties of ministries, and the same Lord.

6 There are varieties of effects, but the same God who works all things in all persons
No one doubts that you are a blessing here, so you shouldn't either.

With that said, continue to march towards the mark, and may the lord keep you iToretheSKY

...until the day when he himself tears the sky :).

Jim, my friend, it makes me sad to hear you talk about leaving CC. You're one of the good guys on here in my book and I can tell that you've got a humble and caring heart and it hurts to see you go. I hope you reconsider. I understand if you need a break, I've taken breaks from CC myself (although they don't last very long). A place like this, where its online, public and fairly anonymous is where people's toes get stepped on easily no matter how careful one tries to be. If the pressure gets too much, I take a break. I used to announce that I was leaving (for good) but now I've learned to just go away silently and then come back and no one even knows that I was gone. :p

I'm sorry for whatever negative experiences you've had here. There's so many different folks here and its easy for things to get misinterpreted and for people to be generally misunderstood by someone because we can't actually hear the person's voice or see the person's face. A lot of that is left to our own imagination. Anyway.. I hope you stay.
