Someone told me along time ago that women were more susceptible to occultic things, such as Tarot cards or astrology, even witchcraft.

I'm curious as to how true this really is. Also, if you want to share any experiences, please feel free. Also, why do you think certain people are more susceptible then others?

So, my questions are

I'm a male who has never been interested in the occult.
I'm a female who has never been interested in the occult.

I'm a male who has dabbled or been interested in the occult.
I'm a female who has dabbled or been interested i the occult.

I'm a male who has been involved a lot in the occult.
I'm a female who has been involved a lot in the occult.

I'm a male who has been extremely involved in the occult.
I'm a female who has been extremely involved in the occult.

The difference between extremely involved and involved a lot is subjective, but I'm thinking more like the difference between palm readings every day to participating in Satanic Rituals.

I'm a male who has never been interested in the occult. I can see the appeal to a degree - the hidden secrets, the mystery, the specialness, the forbidden nature of it all, the unknown, but I also know how God feels about it.

I guess my only 'dabbling' is getting my tarot cards read in my teens. Told me that i have an old soul and that I would get married and have 3 kids (HA!) XD
And playing with a Ouija board when I little a sleep over parties- found out who REALLY killed Kurt Cobain hahaha.

Never took it serious. Not interested in it nor will I ever be.

I've never really been interested in the occult.

Though, one time my aunt did a Taro reading for me, which ended with her telling me I was shy (duh), that I was angry at someone (duh, I was a teenager), and that I should be wary of strangers (duh!). So I was kind of like...What is this, I don't even...

The human heart is the problem - not the Bible, not Dungeons and Dragons, not Harry Potter. But most definitely Twilight. :p

When I was a teen my friends and I used to play with oujia boards sometimes and before I was saved I always had a mild interest in the paranormal (ghosts, psychics, out of body experiences, near death experiences, stories about angels saving people, etc..). Now that stuff just scares me :p (except for the angel stuff)

I'm not saying I didn't have some interest in paranormal stories but I knew, even as a child, that they were the enemy trying to draw attention away from the one, true God. I always wondered why people didn't recognise their demonic traits. Maybe they didn't read the Bible or didn't take it as truth?

Just wanted to mention something that Tintin reminded me about.

While the thread about Harry Potter did cause me to think about this, I'm not even thinking about Harry Potter in regards to the occult. Just to clarify this up. Harry Potter is a fictional book, that may cause some people to be interested in the occult, but not all. So if someone wants to have arguments about books, take it to another thread. And I'm appointing TinTin to be the guard. Mwahahahahahaha

I think the reason people get attracted to it is because it appeals to the ego. Anyone I've known who has been involved in the occult usually thinks they're on some higher plain and have hidden knowledge that the general populace don't have and they have an elitism about them. Which is why I think it's contrary to the life and message of Christ because He connected with people in their brokenness and didn't treat people in an "Us & Them" way.

I´ve seen more ladies involved in the occult than men, in fact, most of the santeros that I saw around, are ladies converting into that form of cultism.

A couple of weekes, by the way, I met a young girl who has been involved in several of this practices (That´s why I asked prayers for Jessica).

Interested? Yeah sure who doesnt wish they had magic powers at some point? Involved? Not a chance, to me its about as real as waking up as a member of the X-men.

Nautilus, wanting magical powers from an imaginative standpoint is very different to the occult practices forbidden by the Bible. You of all people should know that! :p

i've always been someone fascinated with intuition and things of that ilk.

in my opinion, i believe there is a lot about the brain that we don't really understand, quite yet, as i do think intuition is something that exists in differing abilities in people.

i've never been willing to get involved or immersed in occult practices. in fact while all my gfs in high school were playing with ouija boards, i was super creeped out, and stayed far away.

but that doesn't mean i wouldn't love a magic lasso and invisible plane. ; p

When I was a teenager, my stepmother professed herself to be a witch. This was not my opinion of her, she actually made the claim. One day I had an ingrown toenail on my big toe that was giving me problems and I asked to go to the doctor, but oh no, she had a remedy from her special collection of witch remedies. I really wish I was creative enough to make this up.

She said instead of a doctor, she was going to put a poltus on my big toe consisting of table sugar and dish soap on my big toe wrapped in gauze which would magically draw the ingrown part out of my toe. After I stopped laughing, tore the goofy thing off my toe, and got back to my room, I called the doctor. That is about as close to the occult and witchcraft as I have gotten and intend to get.

I followed Druidry for about 10 years. Participated and lead rituals, astral projection etc.. Guess you can say I was extremely involved.

I started being a witch in around February 2012, and at first I just believed in magic but I did not believe in any deities or spirits until in summer 2012 Loki the Norse deity appeared for some reason and harassed me all the time and he also started lusting about me and that was the thing what I especially hated about Loki because that time I was very clingy to Severus Snape (the character not the demon who took the form of Snape). Then in 2013 I got demon possessed for the first time and it happened like 3 times in 2013, and a freak demon usually tried to rape me, I could sense the gross feeling of being groped and then I don't remember what happened the first time the demon tried to rape me but I really feel like he raped me, and then weeks later I got possessed, and I met a Christian friend at a chat and she helped me and she banished the demons. Then in April or May 2013 I became a Christopagan. I was becoming a Christian but I could not let the occult go that time yet because I didn't understand many things yet. Then in 2014 the last occult thing I did was to make a tulpa, and I made a Severus Snape tulpa, but then in April I was going to quit the tulpa because God told me to quit the tulpa, and then in April I became saved by confessing and by admitting that I am a sinner and that Jesus died for us on the cross, and then about two months ago I found out that the tulpa was a demon. So I accidentally had a romantic relationship with a demon, and not with a book-movie character, but I was in love with the book-movie character and not any demon.

I was born in a former Lutheran family, but in 2011 I became an atheist, but then in 2012 the science redirected me to the occult because I thought the occult is scientific because of the star and moon beliefs and herbs and quantum science and stuff like that...

I played with Oujia board at a slumber parties, that's about it. I've always liked the Harry Potter series because it was fun, but I never had any interest in the occult.
